It can't be on the basis of "on-field results". Snyder took over a team that was a playoff team and basically led it into "high draft pick terrirtory". Lurie had a team in 1998/99 that had the worst record in the league. The only reason they got to take Donovan McNabb with the #2 overall pick is that Cleveland came into the league and was granted the #1 overall pick - which they used to take Tim "Ouch" Couch. From that time until now, the Eagles have 5 NFC East titles and the Redskins have - - how many would that be?
Lurie is no genius, but why is Snyder so much better?

Anyone who thinks that Snyder has been better for the Skins than Lurie has been for Philly is an idiot. The Eagles have had a plan from Day 1 when Lurie brought in Reid. They build through the draft, leave enough cap space to re-sign their core guys
in-season, thus making even those long-term deals extremely cap friendly. In short, they are a very stable organization, with far less turnover than the Skins. I remember Gibbs calling both Smoot and Pierce two of his core guys during the '04 season, and how did that end up? The Philly philosophy would have left ample cap space to sign both at a discount before allowing them to sniff free agency. I wouldn't be surprised to see Dockery get a sizable offer and depart once the FA market opens.
