Re: End of First Half?

We called a timeout because we didn't like the look they gave us. What's the big deal?

The Big Deal was there was no time on the Play Clock, and I'm not sure what the Rule is but I believe if you have no timeouts it is a 10 second run off. Other than that I have no problem with the fact that we wanted to shuffle our players but someone should be aware that they weren't going to get the Play off in time. All in All i just hope the coaches learn from that mistake.

So should they have just taken the chance that they wouldn't get the play off in time and not called a TO? That makes no sense.

I agree you don't take that chance 100%. But why call the timeout when the playclock was already at 0? I mean the Delay of the Game Flag was on the field already. That is what is infuriating.

Well if it happened the way you stated that they flew the flag for delay of game then we take a time out and they pick up the flag. That does not make sense because they allready had the penalty and the timeout would not change that. I

Watch the replay. The flag is on the field and they pick it up.

We could have called a TO with a second left on the clock but the fact of the Matter is it would have been a delay if we didn't call a TO.

But I will trust Fletchers Judgement all day so I can't be too upset, plus we won. I would have been more upset if it was called from the Sideline, just like what the Eagles did before halftime when we played them.

Glad someone said that Fletcher called this timeout from on the field...I was sure it would have been one of the coaches. IMO, I don't think that the coaches should be able to call a timeout from the sidelines....all these TO's right before the ball snaps on field goal try is crap I think.

They obviously called TO before the play clock ran out.
