Re: Evening at the Quake: The Top 3 2008 Pre-Combine Draft Prospects

The top end of this draft looks really good, and you can throw Chris Long right into that pile.

Those who want to improve their passing games...look elsewhere. Terrible receiver class, and no QB prospects to die for.

There is some depth at the QB class, as up to 5 of these guys could emerge as NFL starters, but there's only two guys worthy of a first round grade...and knowing the media, neither of them will get it.

I'm talking about Brian Brohm and Andre Woodson. Matt Ryan is going to get the media love, but he's not a great prospect (nor is he as bad as Russell was last year). He wasn't even on the scouting radar before BC started 8-0, and that's usually a bad sign.

To think, my first ever post was on how I thought Russel was gonna be an overrated player. Those were the days...

Chris Long is the BEST PLAYER IN THE 2007 DRAFT. And that's not just the UVa alum in me talking. I watched him play all year and the dude is straight up incredible. He is absolutely relentless, fought double and triple teams, beat teams even when the game planned specifically for him and when he was the only truly great player on his team (how many 1st rounders coming out of UVa? Compare that to LSU). He is explosive, can play end in either a 4-3 or 3-4 (as he did in college, but I think he'd be better as a true pass rusher in a 4-3 ...) Can we get some YouTube on this guy? He's an animal!
