On the one hand he gets his "out of the box choice" on the other hand the far right is happy because of her socially conservative views. Just like McCain could attack Obama for choosing an insider like Biden when he's preaching change, Obama could say "why are you challenging my age an inexperience when you chose someone three years younger than me who just became governor a couple of years ago"
