I think Snyder hired Zorn because that's who Jimm Fassel wanted. But then when it leaked out and the fans were on the verge of a massive riot which would have ended with the beheading of Snyder he knew he needed to look else where. I don't think he had any intention of looking in house until Zorn kicked in his door one morning and said to Danny, ""We're no strangers to love. You know the rules and so do I. A full commitment's what I'm thinking of, you wouldn't get this from any other guy. I just gotta tell you what I'm feeling... gotta make you understand.
