Re: Lavar Arrington calls Joe Gibbs a Coward
Why all the hating? That's so dumb don't you think... and it's really not important, the skins seem to be doing much better with out the both of them so why would any skins or fans give a ish about the whole comment that was supposed to be said??? WOW..

I used to like Lavar. If he thought all those things then Why did he want to come back to us. He doesnt even belong in this organization. Truely classless. Bye Hater Bye Hater.

hey everyone, its Lavar's opinion. Joe Gibbs' earns more respect for not playing the media game with him.

Re: Lavar Arrington calls Joe Gibbs a Coward
Let's see...
- Our team is at an unexpected 6-3 - The team's top two offensive weapons maybe out this Sunday - We have a crucial game against a hated opponent - The defense acquired a possibly very good player for cheap Yet fans are concerned about what an ex-player said about an ex-coach? Man, you'd think this is the preseason or something like that to give five pages to this thread.

I don't see how this is any worse than 5 pages on the release of our 4th string CB.

I think LA is crying sour grapes but I do think there is a grain of truth in what he says about Gibbs coming back for the $ for his NASCAR team.

Re: Lavar Arrington calls Joe Gibbs a Coward
LaVar kind of reappeared on the scene here in DC at Sean Taylor's funeral. If you recall, LaVar spoke of rebuilding bridges that had been burned during his divorce from the team. He said all of this with tears in his eyes (which I felt were fake). I never heard where he was close to Sean like the other speakers at his funeral; it just felt weird to me that he was even speaking at all up there. He spoke vaguely and in generalities, not specifics, about his relationship with Sean. I just felt that his entire "speech" was a sham and a fraud. It felt to me like it was a desperate attempt to grab attention by someone who had fallen out of the spotlight.
I feel that this latest episode is an extension of that. He's trying to make himself relevant when he knows he no longer is. The same thing with the restaurant. "If I build a huge restaurant and put my name on it, everyone will want to come here and be my friend." IMO, he has issues; probably in much the same way most NFL players do (at some level), but LaVar has manifested his in a disgusting fashion thus far.

Re: Lavar Arrington calls Joe Gibbs a Coward
I don't believe that at all. JG's NASCAR team has made Joe Gibbs a very very wealthy man. He makes more with NASCAR than he ever did with football. Even with the $5.5million salary he pulled with the Skins from 04-07.

Re: Lavar Arrington calls Joe Gibbs a Coward
The thought that Gibbs came back for the money is pure BS.
At his age he didn't need to come back to 18 hour days and the stress and pressure that comes along with running a NFL team for a paycheck. The thought of that just goes against everything the man is about. Last edited by MTK; 11-12-2008 at 10:05 AM. |

And where would you find that grain? Do you have any evidence that JGR was in need of cash?
