Re: We Still Play This Sunday Against the Bengals

Redskins by a touchdown. 21-14. Our defense gives up two FGs, and then one TD with a two point conversion early on in the fourth quarter. During our two fourth quarter drives, we play it exactly like we have all season, opting to run out the clock rather than run up the score.

I do a Bengals game aftermath playoff picture where we are tied for one half game out of the last playoff spot with Dallas and Atlanta, and 70% of the warpath predicts us to win our final two games and make the playoffs.

I predict we will control our own destiny at the end of the week, which is all you can ask for in December in the NFL.

It amazes me how anyone can think we're going to beat Philly and SF. Both are playing better than we are. Philly just beat NY at NY. This week is going to be a total struggle against Cinn and I would not be shocked if we lose.

It's debatable how well the Niners are playing right now, but exactly one week after the Cowboys eeked out a win against us in the 4th Quarter, they beat the 49ers by 16 points. So, I'd say they are probably not playing better than we have been. I do think they are capable of beating us though.

Normally, I'd be scared of a Cincinnati team that historically plays the NFC East VERY tough, but I think they are catching us at a really bad time from an emotional standpoint. We have a lot to prove with Heyer and Fabini at the tackles, and they don't have a nose tackle who can move Rabach all over the place, which is a must have if you want to stop the Redskins offense.

Philly is another story, but like I said, one win over a bad team and the ridiculously inaccurate pessimism on this site becomes ridiculously inaccurate optimism. I don't think you will in any way be part of this trend, but you have to agree with me that it exists, right??

Here is what I think. When a team scores 10 points a game there is no way you can say we'll beat anyone. We should beat Cinn but it won't surprise me if we lose. I would be willing to bet that we split Philly and SF. So we'll end up 9-7 or 8-8. Not good enough to get in the playoffs.

Fair enough, but by the same logic, we would have a decent chance of beating Philadelphia because the score will be low and close, and we did put up 20+ on them last time.

Also, this game is going to be the 5th game this year we will play against a solidly inferior team, and you have to think at some point, we're going to run into a poor effort from their defenses. I mean, you look at the Rams, Browns, Lions, and Seahawks, and every one of those defenses (especially the first two) played our offense harder and more aggressively than they've played most of the year. Is it safe to assume that the Bengals will do the same? Or do you think that there's a chance that their pass rush just totally mails it in and Campbell picks them to shreds?

I think our offensive numbers would look a lot better this year if we didn't get such a great last-ditch season-saving defensive effort from the bad defenses we have played. I'm not saying we won't see more of the same from the Bengals, but I'm open to the possibility.

I expect Cinn to play very hard. They took NY to overtime, they tied Philly and very well could've beaten Dallas. We just lost Samuels and our line can't pass block. Their defense has to be licking their chops. This is not going to be a walk in the park. None of our games are.

Yep.....especially when Moss has not scored or caught more than five passes in a game since Week 8! WTF happened to us!?

We were playing a lot better than the Rams when we lost to them...that's why they play the game

So your saying if the Skins come out playing great ball there is no way we can beat Phill or SF?
