So many people complained when we drafted 3 pass-catchers last year. That was absolutely needed! By the time Moss’ contract is up, they should all (hopefully) be fully acclimated to the NFL and the offense. ARE is not much help and may be gone sooner than later. This is the foresight that this organization has lacked for too long.
I agree that CB is a position of need given Smoot's decline and the fact that Springs is not likely to return next year. However, giving Hall a gigantic contract that hinders our ability to improve in other areas is not the only way to address our CB issues....

areed. that implication was not my intention. i'm simply saying it needs to be a priority BEFORE it becomes a desperate necessity (like o-line and olb are now)

Yes, they need to move on this quickly - with Hall feeling good about his contribution to the team fresh on his mind. As soon as he gets an outrageous offer from another team, he'll forget that playing on the redskins had a positive affect on his behavior and his play on the field.

Then it will be about the numbers, which was the mistake he made when he signed with the Raiders (even though being placed on the trading block left him with little options).

Like I said in another post:

When and if he gets the money, will he revert to free lancing and stupid personal fouls? He's at his best behavior right now because he wants the money, once he gets the money will he go back to his old ways? Stay tuned.

This is the thing that concerns me. Hopefully he has grown up and left the childish behavior that costs his team behind. But just in case, I would like to see some form of contract that would include behavior clauses and would not leave us in a financial bind should we decide to release him. That being said, if he has learned from his mistakes, I think he would be a nice long term addition to the team. Not that there are many, but one of our biggest deficiencies on defense is getting turnovers, and he is quite good at that.

Agreed. We arent going to get him to sign a contract with less than 12-15M garaunteed, though... its just not going to happen. I think 7 years, 50M with a 12M signing bonus would be about right.

I agree, I'm still not sold on hall, and I doubt I will be for a long time. I've noticed he gets burned quite a bit and I've seen his bs in Oakland and Atlanta. I'm not ready to jump with joy until I see consistence.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rogers is traded for a 3rd round or lower pick due to the fact that he's signed for another year and then becomes a FA. He's had a solid season and might even command a 2nd rounder from some sucker.

When has he been burned with us? The guy I see getting burned is Fred Smoot.

Twice in the Eagles game, he was lucky DeSean Jackson dropped them and I've seen it in other games also.

The Bengals receivers did a number on him as well.

Hall is what he is. He's not a great player, but if you throw it to him, he'll catch it and return it the other way. Rogers is much better in coverage, espically zone, but he's a good bet to drop it. They would make an interesting duo, that's for sure.

Smoot's pretty useless, though. He's like the worst of Rogers and the worst of Hall rolled up into one player.

But if we don't pay up and he gets away, we'd still have to sign or draft someone else. Hoping a new guy can come in and produce equally as well as DH is somewhat of a gamble since we already know what we have with Hall in Blache's system.

The only way I say no is if he asks for Antoine Winfield type money.
