Buzbee-Seen as a pass-rushing specialist from what I understand, but they have high hopes he'll start to contribute this year

Jackson-Haven't figured out what he adds to the team

Sinclair-Special teamer at best I'd imagine

Devin Clark-Not sure why he's been talked up so much this offseason. Wish we had kept Crummey

Rinehart-He needs to play. Maybe with Thomas' neck/spine injury, and I hate to think this because I'm a big fan of his, there might be an injury settlement down the line this offseason?

Fincher-He'll battle for playing time and wouldn't be surprised to see him emerge as our new Khary Campbell (special teams leader)

There's also Kareem Moore who should have a bigger role this year. And one guy who we're not talking about at all but who is more highly regarded around the league than I would have ever imagined is Justin Tryon.

I would expect Moore to have a bigger role this year. I think he's going to turn out pretty good. Kinda surprises me too about Tryon. Maybe the FO knows more than we give them credit for? It would be great if these guys would show the reason we drafted them this year. This year would be a really good time to step up.

Really, what's the word around the league? Is Tryon far enough along that it might tip the scales on the decision to release Springs?

No, not at all. I mean if Springs is released it won't be because of Tryon. But Tryon is considered a strong dime with potential to pretty easily become the nickel (assuming Rogers and Hall are the starting DBs, and Springs is gone) by early in the season.

Can you elaborate more on what people are saying about Tryon?

Came in very raw, but has picked up on the "mental aspects" of playing defense very quickly (his attention to detail in the film room was previously a knock on him). Played smart football, meaning he didn't miss his assignments, embarass himself, or force teammates to cover for his mistakes, when he got on the field last year. Probably won't ever be a #1 or #2 CB, but has a bright future as a nickel back.

Also, being considered to return kicks this year.

Good to hear.

He was pretty raw coming out of college so it shouldn't be a shocker that he struggled a bit as a rookie. Gotta give him some time. Something some fans don't seem to understand.

I found a pretty good pre-draft breakdown of him.
