I think that it does. I do not believe that they were happy with Kolb even before the injury. They still need a replacement down the line for McNabb. McNabb was a scrambling QB for a while before Reid turned him into a Pocket Passer. I believe that they feel that they might be able to do the same thing with Vick. Remember Vick has been in the WCO. They sign him short term for relatively cheap and it buys them more time to get the QB solution after McNabb solved. In the mean time they can use him for those gimmick plays that they liked to run with Jackson last season.

I do believe that this might hurt them a little if McNabb goes down early in the season. Their backup QB position until week six is a big question mark and nobody knows what Vick would look like after week six.

In short, this is a great move for the not so distant future, (next season and perhaps beyond) short term impact could be negative.
