Most of the time you see guys like Drew Stanton, Marques Tuiasosopo, Kevin Kolb, Kellen Clemons, Tarvaris Jackson, and Brian Brohm. Chad Henne might pan out but 2nd round QB's are even harder to turn into starters. Quincy Carter was also decent but Dallas couldn't wait to get rid of him after he failed a drug test and he never caught on again.

Anyway people can say what they want about first round QB's by they pan out a lot more frequently then their second round counterparts.
while i agree for the most part qb's are deep this year in the draft and you could probably pick one up in the 2nd round this year, and kolb was pretty money the games he played this year, i wouldn't be surprised if he starts some where next year or goes some where where he has a chance to compete for the starting job

2nd Round QBs in the past 5 years:
2009 - Pat White
2008 - Chad Henne, Brian Brohm
2007 - Kevin Kolb, Drew Stanton
2006 - Kellen Clemens, Tavaris Jackson
2005 - None Taken

i still think this is one of the deepest group of qb's coming out in the past 5 years, there are probably 4 to 5 first rounders

Huh? There are probably 4 to 5 first rounders that were drafted in the 2nd round and have done nothing of note? Please elaborate.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Think he was talking about the upcoming draft.

yeah i am, they are saying mccoy could fall to mid second round right now, this will be a very stocked year as far as college qb prospects

Mel Kiper said this in his latest piece:

Quote:
In terms of his pro potential -- which is still significant -- I think the bigger issue is he's a really tough evaluation for NFL people. I'd compare him to a Jake Plummer. He doesn't have a big arm, he doesn't have a big body, he can run but he's not some kind of elite athlete. But he flat out won't blow anybody away in terms of what he does in workouts. He'll need to stand on what he's done on the field. That's a lot, but it might not be first-round material at this point.

I see McCoy as a second-round guy, which is a fine place to land for him -- also right where Plummer went. He's still on the Big Board because I think that highly of him, but we know quarterback is a position of need, so the draft will often be a different story.
