Picking any quarterback in the first round is a big mistake. Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame is the only franchise quarterback in the draft. The rest can be had a later rounds. The Skins need to lock down left tackle. Okung will sure up that weak offensive line.

Agree 120% should be the chief concern above all else - if it were possible trade up/down as necessary to acquire fresh/healthy O-linemen, if for no other benefit than Campbell's to give him the time he needs. In my opinion, Clausen and Bradford are both bad choices if we take a quarterback (health/leadership in question) - the only skill and charisma worthy of future field marshal status in the NFL is Tebow and I have a feeling he'll end up in TB. I believe we can all agree the skins do need a field marshal of the same cut of Favre and P.Manning, if not now then maybe in another year.

Kiper projected on M&M this morning that McCoy probably fell into the late 2nd, early 3rd and possibly 4th because of last night. He will likely need an amazing combine/individual workout to put himself back up as a sure fire first day pick.

At this point, but after the combine, interviews, workouts, etc. he may be considered worth the #4. If you want a LB to call signals & make plays, it's worth using a high pick IMO.

Yes, he's probably got 1 decent year left. Even then, I would expect to see some drop off from him next season, he's played 12 years. I'm not saying cut him now, but they have to look towards replacing him, especially if the same system w/the Mike calling signals & in charge of the unit remains in place.

There's a middle ground between gambling on developing UDFAs and using a high draft pick on O-linemen, and that is addressing the O-line by using free agency to pick up pro o-linemen (and not necessarily "veteran" O-linemen).

You may point out that the Redskins have been burned by free agency in the past, but the problem was we were gving cushy deals to high-mileage guys. Well, this year there are some OL free agents who are young and low-mileage (from winning programs like New Orleans and New England), and we can avoid having a super-young OL and chalking 2010 up to a rebuilding year.

The 2010 schedule is too good to pass up, and the Cowboys, Eagles, and Giants are all fairly weak teams. We can always "rebuild" in 2011. By being smart, we CAN have it both ways: a young, talented team that can compete immediately.

Also: everybody please stop using the Vikings as an example for anything. They are a freak team with 3 of the best offensive weapons on the field at the same time: Peterson, Rice and Harvin.

Let's look at our specific situation. JC is an RFA, he's tendered and sticks around. With our 4th we hit on a franchise LT, Okung, Campbell, whoever. 2nd we wind up with a solid starter at another OL spot, say C or RT. Dock stays solid. Now with the new regime in place, good-excellent coaching, a new DC who runs a better scheme we're looking at 7-9 to 9-7. While I've been down on JC's performance this year, if the new regime can do a better job covering his weaknesses and maximizing his strengths, with a better scheme and supporting cast he won't flat out blow games. I think Clausen is a franchise QB, (even if he looks like an emu or douche) his numbers stack up quite favorably against other franchise QBs who came out of college, he played in a pro style offense under a great offense mind in Charlie Weis.

I think Iupati could be the Michael Oher of next year. I Love this guy, the problem is theres no reason for us to take him with the 4th overall pick, which will probably be a QB or OT. Plus in Free Agency is Guards Chester Pitts and Cris Kuper from Houston and Denver, so they already know the offense. And with our second rounder, we'll probably get whatever position we don't get with our first round pick. I personally think we should get Bradford, because all I keep hearing is how he is "super accurate" "good at getting rid of the ball and releasing it quickly" how he can "make all the NFL throws" and is "accuate when he is on the run as well". When I look at a QB the number one thing I'm looking at is is he accurate? Can he get the balls to his receivers? Thats this guy. This guy doesn't come out every year. Russell Okung and Anthony Davis type LT's come out pretty much every year. Plus you look at some of the LT's in the NFL and a lot of them are found pretty much from all the rounds of the draft. QB's that are good are typically in the first round. We've had Jason for 5 years and of the 4 he's played he really hasn't shown me he can be the QB that could take us to the Super Bowl. He's showed me that he can be a back up and fill in if the starting QB gets injured, but thats it. I have more bad memories and moments of Jason than positive moments of him (the time against the Giants he threw and interception 5yds passed the line of scrimmage really sticks out, as well as the games against Dallas, Pittsburgh, Giants where he held onto the ball way way too long, where he should have thrown it away. Pretty much every game which he throws a pass that ends up being a yard short of the first down, instead of going deep.Against the Saints when he was picked off against Vilma and Giants when he stepped way to far back in the pocket and Osi stripped him and ran the fumble in for a score. The only positive moment I have of Jason is when he threw that bomb against the saints a year ago to win, then again that seems to be the only highlight of jason that espn and nfln seem to show when they talk about him)

So I say we draft Sam Bradford and make him the opening day starter, and deal with the OL in FA and what ever we don't get there, get in the draft, which we will. Who knows maybe Bruce campbell of Maryland falls to us in the second round or Bryan Bulaga of Iowa or Jason Fox (he should definitley be there) or a Ciron Black or maybe who knows a Trent Williams could fall just enough for us to trade up

^ I think you are dreaming! Not many of those all pro caliber tackles will be around in the 2nd round. This year seems a little shallow on OL prospects. I'm no expert, but in AllenHan I trust!

Ok, so I know some people on this board want Sam Bradford, and others don't. For those of you who don't want him, I think you should atleast watch these two videos of Super Accurate Sam, before you completely write him off. This is all of his passes from the national championship game, against the top ranked defense of florida who has atleast 3 first round picks starting for them in this game.

OK had a pretty good OL. Lot's of completions within 5 yds of LoS, missed at least two deep passes that should've been completed, forced INT late in the 1st half inside the 10. Forced another pass from under center into coverage in 2nd half for an INT.

The guy isn't garbage, but he isn't a franchise QB IMO. Can he be solid at the next level, possibly in the right situation. But I don't waste the #4 overall pick on him.

Question: whats LoS? Also after seeing Kurt Warner last night, this guy actually reminds me a lot of Kurt. Not the worlds strongest arm, but accurate, makes good decisions, isn't a runner, attacks the blitz, stays cool and calm throughout the game.
