Rocky M is NOT an all pro but he is a good linebacker. Not great. Good. Not gonna get that with a 4th or 5th round pick. Just a special teams player.

Albert is the best defensive tackle in the universe and if he comes into camp motivated to show everybody that they are wrong, then look out.

Landy is a solid strong safety. Its not his fault that an idiot played him out of position all last year. Heck, if you played Santana Moss at linebacker, I guess after 1 game you would want to cut him. Not there fault we had idiots for coaches last year. Orakpo covering receivers...Landry covering instead of tackling...and Fred Davis sitting on the bench for the first half of the year instead of using 2 tight end formations. Not there fault we had idiot coaches.
Landry has the speed to cover- he's one of the fastest safties in football. He just sucks in coverage. And when he has a chance to tackle he goes for the blow up hit and often wiffs, rather than just making a sure wrap up. He drives me nuts. Probably my least favorite player on the team. But he has so much raw talent, he could be very good. Just needs some discipline and coaching.

That said, I'd probably rather just trade Campbell and hang on to the rest of the guys (regardless of how much I dislike LL, AH, and Rogers). Trading any of those three would be a big net loss on our part based on what it took to get them here. We need to stockpile some players- particularly LBs and offensive lineman, but I'd rather go about getting extra multiple draft picks by leveraging that 4th overall pick.

Just to throw it out there- I feel like nobody has said a peep about Cooley being traded for a while. I wouldn't be surprised to see him traded on draft day (possibly Friday if we can get a 2nd rounder for him).

Of course Landry has the speed to cover...however how many fast as lightening receivers have we seen come and go because they can't catch. Speed is great but it is only one small part otherwise track stars would be making the NFL by the dozens. If Landry would rather hit than cover, then why didn't our idiot coaches simply allow him to hit people coming out of the backfield instead of being 30 yards downfield. I guess I just answered my own question: because they were idiots and thats why Blache is retired and Zorn is working at Taco Bell or whatever.

Rocky had a great year last year, this is the 2nd year after his knee operation meaning he'll even have a better year this year. A 5th rounder is an insult, sign his ass to a 3 year contract and call it good.

Landry would rather hit than cover. However he can't cover, and when he gets the opportunity to hit, he torpedoes himself at the ball carrier rather than trying to tackle. Therefore- can't cover (hopefully he can be taught to cover by the new staff), and won't tackle. Big problem, no matter what position you're playing in the secondary.

When I mentioned Landry being fast, I was just pointing out that despite all that speed, he can't cover his eyes. His favorite Sunday brunch is pump fakes.

Generally speaking, yes Landry can tackle. However he did launch himself one particular game and that got played over and over and over, thus your perception that ALL HE DOES is launch himself. Kind of like the time he got run over 2 years ago by Brandon Jacobs. It was ONE play but everybody plays it over and over and over until suddenly it becomes a fact that everybody runs over Landry.

Landry is not going to get run over. And he will be a better tackler this year for this reason. We had HORRIBLE coaches the last 2 years. We now have BETTER coaches this year. There will be a big difference in not only Landry's performance but others as well. Either that, or they won't start, or they won't make the team. I think you will be surprised during preseason with the difference once we see them play.
