While I understand myself to be well in the minority, I just can't understand what's so great about this game. It may as well be called GTA: Wild West. While the graphics are nice, everything else in the game could have been done on PS2 (and was in fact!) Rockstar seems oblivious here to the tremendous advances in games since GTA 3: whether it be the evolved combat of games like Call of Duty and Gears of War, the freedom and player agency of Fallout, or the interactive narrative of Mass Effect. Maybe I'm being a debbie downer here, but when IGN starts giving out 9.7's and people start saying things like one of the best games of all time, I feel the product has to be better than OK. As it stands right now, firing up the box and taking Marston out on the plains feels like as much of a chore as chauffeuring people around Liberty City was.

I am going to have to agree here a bit with you. Now that I have moved farther into the game it has become a bit repeating with all the tasks. I actually liked Batman better then this game.

Batman started slow then really picked up. RDR started good and has now fizzled for me.

I am thinking either Mario 2 or Alan Wake as my next game.
