lol....good reminder of how some Skins fans unknowingly support the previous bonehead administration led by Vinny..... by being ready to scrap an idea before it has a chance to pan out....we are still in year one of the Allen/Shanahan era which will get us to Super Bowl in 3-4 years

A few weeks ago you would have thought the season was over, sorry but these posts are definitely amusing. It's a long season.

I'm fairly sure I've gotten it from you about "I told you so" posts.

For what it's worth, I correctly picked the Skins to beat the Packers in my football pool last week.

Nah man its really not about that. I hate that stuff along with pat myself on the back posts. Like I said, a few weeks ago things were so dire around here I just thought it was worth pointing out that all is not lost even after a disappointing loss. Still plenty of football to go, that's all.

Before the onslaught, I DO NOT wish to get rid of JH. He's doing a good job.
Anybody see any way to absorb Wade Phillips in a useful position with the Skins without rocking the boat? That is after Big d dumps him..........

Re: The Official Defense Has Major Issues/Fire Jim Haslett Thread

why does everyone want Wade Philips, he was a good DC, but look at His defense now with the Cowboys, they give up as big, if not bigger plays with just as good, if not better 3-4 players.

Hasletts gotten better, but I would like to see him not show his positioning of whose guarding who on certain plays, and for him to move players around and not show who is covering who until the center snaps the ball.

Everyone? I was under the impression that SCP was the only one?

Re: The Official Defense Has Major Issues/Fire Jim Haslett Thread

Wade Phillips to me personifies the talented but sloppy team. I've had enough of guys playing fast and loose, what I want is precision and execution.

Which we're finally getting. A major reason why we're winning games we would have lost a year ago, are less penalized this year, are successfully completing game-winning drives, etc.

The Cowboys choke because their coach is not a closer. No thanks, I'd rather not have that guy anywhere near our coaching staff

As a big opponent of 3-4, I must say that I like some 4-3 looks that Haslett has thrown into the mix. I overreact in a negative manner, but I'm always happy to be proven wrong.

I agree with your post Ruh.

I have been a big non believer in the new defense. But Haslett is making some nice changes and I am becoming a believer in his adjustments.

I honestly feel that if Haslett had taken the approach of easing the team into the 3-4, with modified 4-3 looks, we may have fared better defensively. But I do give the team props for modifying things and they seem to be playing to our strength.

Re: The Official Defense Has Major Issues/Fire Jim Haslett Thread

Our biggest holes are on the d-line i think we need a solid nose-guard. I think that Chris Wilson is the key next year i believe he is gonna develop into one of the gnarlyiest pass-rushers in the league. I also believe that Lorenzo alexander will flourish at the lolb spot. I think he will lose some weight and fit perfect into the scheme behind Andre Carter. To our defense as a whole we have some key players we just have to develop their already strong skill sets to fit the mold of what hasletts trying to do. I think in the 2011 season our defense will be a force. We Just need Noseguard and some more depth at all four lb spots.

I don't really see a problem with our secondary that more reps can't fix i think our secondary is the strongest part of the team. With that said we were getting shreded through the air the 1st 4 weeks of the season but any QB (sam Bradford included) can hit an nfl reciever if he has 6 seconds to throw the ball even though the defense is blitzing leaving holes in the coverage.

Hail!!!
