Don't really have alot of time right now but one quick thing ....Tripp says "Donovan's decision making was poor all day.".....I disagree........I was at the game and as much as I dislike MacNabbb he was being hounded and pounded all day.....under the situatuion he did well.tripp assume's alot about the intentions and responsibilities of the players while not knowing exactly what they are in certan situations and while I certainly understand he's a Redskin fan doesn't know the minute details of the Skins or the Giants.

P.S.

.........and yeah he is dead wrong about this......" FS Antrel Rolle is a bad player having a bad year who was bad in this game and tried many times to let the Redskins right back into the ball game."

First of all, thanks for the kind words and for reading.

I'm not sure anything I've written would require the knowledge of the minute details. When the Skins run left to the weakside behind Trent Williams, I have no idea what they call that play. I know what I would call the play, but that's not really relevant to what I write. In that case, not knowing specific details doesn't really make a difference.

Specifically speaking, McNabb wasn't really hounded all day. He was sacked four times, but that was maybe half, or 40% of the entire time they got near McNabb for the day. If you're the Giants, you absolutely love that ratio, because the pressure you were getting on McNabb was turning into lost yards and ended drives, but that's hardly being hounded. The pocket was pretty clean on most throws, especially the drops. Those drops weren't last ditch throws that ended in a harmless incompletions, they were well executed passing plays until they hit the WR (or TE, or FB) in the hands.

Antrell Rolle has made a number of horrific plays for the Giants this year, which I'm sure you are familiar with, but a lot of my opinion on him has to do with his disaster days in Arizona, well before you guys signed him. In other words, he's your Adam Archuleta: highest paid safety in the division, and getting less time at safety than both Phillips and Grant.

Re: Redskins-Giants Game Reviews, other things related to Poorly Executing football teams

I guess I saw a few different things in the Skins/Giants game:

I saw a patchwork Giants' OL with two starters on the sidelines and their first replacement nowhere in evidence open humongous holes in the Skins' defense. Bradshaw and Jacobs combined to run the ball for 200 yards.

I saw a LOT of "matador tackling" by Skins' defenders.

I saw the Giants do business on Philip Buchanon. (They did as much business there as a hooker at the National Horny Guys Convention.) They got 8-10 yards whenever they needed it wherever they were on the field.

I saw the offensive line provide plenty of protection when there were six blockers and four rushers.

I saw why Mike Sellers should be looking for work in the off-season.

I saw that the OL - - with Trent Williams out or playing with a handicap - - is really sub-standard.

I did not see a game where the majority of the Skins' players put forth a lot of extra effort nor did I see a game that might lead me to believe that the Skins are just a player of two away from being a "competitive factor" in the NFC East and the NFC in general.
