I've lived in NoVa all my life and never heard of cornhole before I came up this site either. I feel like they could've made a better name. I'm sure the humor of the double meaning helped the name stick. I think people tend to like goofy names for these types of games.

My friends and I call the washers game "Flip Pie" because that's what my dad randomly called a set that I made a few years ago. The name stuck ever since because it's so ridiculous. The funny thing is my friend introduced this game as Flip Pie at some Penn State alumni events and now there's a whole group of them that only know the name as Flip Pie.
