Alternatively:

Clearly we are coddling players and the coaches and trainers have no clue how to deal with injuries. In the olden days of football yore, a real training staff would have given him a shot of morphine in the leg and shoved him back on the field.

Where's the decisiveness ...
3rd Option: RG3 played his but off and does not want to take any more attention away from the rest of the team so since no one will listen to him when he says pay attention to RB Morris, RG3 has decided to fake a knee injury so others can get some praise.
