I dont think his talent wasnt correctly used per say. I just think it didnt translate to the nfl. Once he got to the nfl his speed was less of a threat than it was in college. If he could catch he probably could have been a solid wr. Unfortunately he played qb and i dont think his arm was good enough. He was awesome at osu though.

Robert Griffin III, other NFL players likely fearful of 'Jay Cutler' treatment - Yahoo! Sports

Somehow I think it does play a big part. The one thing I can tell with RGIII is that he tries to prove his toughness. You can see it in the quotes.

Quote:
"One thing I won’t do personally is quit, or play scared. I’ve never played scared in my life"
Quote:
"Even if they have to cart me off the field, I’m going to get off that cart and walk away.”

...and there countless of other quotes just like this. He has nothing to prove, and I certainly don't think anybody has questioned his heart. Even if they did, who gives a ****.

Cowherd was recently talking about the difference in the way people responded to Cutler vs the response to Griffin. The main difference, he rationalized, is that Griffin is a very likable guy, Cutler isnt. Cutler often comes across as bitchy or asshole like. Griffin comes across as an extremely hard worker, takes all the responsibility and always says the right thing but not in the sense of being a pushover. The easiest way to avoid the “Cutler treatment” when injured, is to not act like him when healthy.

That said, I think Griffin still has a whole lot to prove. And if acted like he didn’t have anything to prove, then he probably wouldn’t be the player we are all enamored with

Re: RGIII undergoing total reconstructive surgery: out 6-8 months

I love RG3, but I have high confidence in Kirk Cousins...I do hope that RG3 can recovery from his knee surgery and get back out on the field. If he is able to return in time for training camp, that would be excellent. But I'm already thinking of Cousins as our starting quarterback for 2013.....

A rarity these days.. A balance of optimism, pessimism and reality from the Dr. (and former Redskin) who performed RG3's first ACL surgery.

EDIT: Forgot the link, What Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III faces during recovery from knee surgery - NFL News | FOX Sports on MSN

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

"Perhaps the Redskins should not overuse RG3's running skills when he returns to the field."

That defeats the purpose of having RG3...

Just as long as you have the threat of eating Buffalo wings. That should be enough to keep the......waitresses honest.
