Neither Thomas nor Poyer would be 2nd Round reaches. Since all three players are considered to be either 1st or 2nd Round talents by some evaluators, there probably isn't much difference between them. The Patriots draft based on need for their secondary, often reaching for players... and that is why their secondary still sucks besides Talib, who they did not draft. Most draft scouts have Elam as a late 1st to early second, I think Elam is significantly better than Thomas and Poyer and if he drops to the Redskins, they would be lucky to draft him. But only time will tell. Plus Strong Safety was not exactly a strength this season.
