If we bring back Hall we are not improving as a secondary. In fact its more likely we are taking a step back at the CB position.

Returning Hall and drafting in the defensive backfield, to me is not taking a step back. More of a lateral move with the hope of hitting in the draft.

CB and FS are our most pressing concerns at the point. A RT would be nice this year, but with the cap penalties we are screwed.

When you think of both Volmer and Winston sitting out there not garnering any interest, it just kills me to think that we could have a great offensive line if we could just get some of our cash back. BUT that is never going to happen so F*$K YOU Goodell.

I fail to understand how resigning a player you had on your roster for the last couple of years is taking a step back. Obviously we do not have the cap room to pursue a viable top tier FA at the CB position. If we did, I'm sure we would have done it.

If I had a to bracket out the availbable CB...Revis would be seeded #1 and D Hall would be a 16# seed and actually in the playin game. His game is weak son

We're improving the secondary compared to this instant, yes?

Our corners aren't the real weakness of the secondary anyway. They're average cover corners who play our unique style of defense (similar to Steelers with pressure out of the secondary more than most) quite well. The FS play was bad, and Haslett's set up/positioning didn't help any, especially early in the season.

Bottom line I think is that a starting caliber FS will help the secondary far more than an upgrade at corner, especially factoring in the question of how well any of the FA corners fit our scheme.

We can do both, releasing Hall was the first step. I know we can find multiple secondary starters in the draft, just dont f*ck it up.

Hasn't been a regular part of our history. I'd be especially weary about starting a rookie at FS.

This I completely agree with you on. We need a FS who can cover and play the field. If we can find a good one of those then we would be good to go with our starters from last year.
