Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings

Any NFL owner is gonna think twice about a HC that wants total control BUT at the same time is a bad GM.
They'll also worry about a HC that readily spoke to and leaked in house information to the media and not to mention accepted no blame for his piss poor W/L record despite having total control.

Yeah, i can see why owners are hesitant...again.
Owners aren't gonna easily forget/dismiss his behavior in his final year here.

Titans hire mularkey. He's 18-39 as a HC

Maybe one of these new coaches will be a standout, but it sure seems like it's a less than stellar group of new HC's. I'm not complaining with 2 of them going to the NFC East.

So you think it will be a cake walk in the east for the Skins?

Ha...is it ever a cakewalk for anyone? Honestly every team has a chance, this division doesnt have a strong, dominating team.

I think the Eagles are the new Redskins of the 90s and 2000s. Incompetently run, ravaged in the depth department, no answer at QB.. They'll struggle.

Giants were very close to being good this year, many many games came down to last minute. I think they will make some moves on defense and be competitive. But they won't build towards championship caliber again until Reese starts making some better draft picks.

Dallas is the one I'm most concerned about. A healthy Romo and Bryant instantly put them back in the competitive category. And they have a top pick that could net them a very good trench player.

But the Redskins have by far the best GM in McCloughan. The rookie class he is about to select will make another impact like the class did this year. And this year's class will make huge strides going into year two. Junior Gallette returns to make it a premiere pass rush.

Not a cake walk, but the second of many consecutive division titles. This team is on the rise and is being built to stay on top, with a genuine QB leading it all.

Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings

It won't be a cakewalk at all because it's the nfc east but the skins will be favorites at the beginning of the season and they should be. Young talented team that is only getting better. This isn't like the 2012 roster as we've said a bunch here. We have a true offense now and passer.

2-7 as an interim coach last year. Maybe Amy Adams Strunk and Dean Spanos have a personal bet on who can ruin a team quicker or something.

I think the Redskins have the inside track on the NFC East next year.

Skins: They are not the most talented team, but they play well together. They have a young QB, developing O-line, and the best front office in the NCL East. In the last two years, they have drafted ten starters. If they can draft three starters this year, 25% of their core will be under three years. That is how you build a team for long-term success.

Here is my take on the rest of the division.

Giants: There are more things wrong with the Giants than Tom Coughlin. They have the best QB in the division but have only made it to the playoffs twice since 2008. In QB driven league, you have a top tier QB, top ten skill player, and you can't make the playoffs in 6 years? I think you have issues with leadership on the team and in the front office.

Eagles: No QB and dumpster fire. It will take a GOOD GM 2 - 3 years to recover from CK experiment.

Cowboys: The Cowboys have the most talent in the NFC East, but they do have their warts. They have Jerruh Jones as a GM, no leadership, and an ageing QB that is one hit away from retirement. They have a great O-line and some excellent skill players.

This is exactly where I was headed but I do think the division is better than others give it credit for.

I didn't say that. My post's implication was that none of the new HC's appear to be world beaters.

As for our division:
Garrett is 40-40 over 5 years, and isn't likely to be a HOF'er in any sense of the word.

Pederson's last head coaching job (2005-2008) was the Calvary Baptist Academy. I'm thinking that the competition at the NFL level is just a little more difficult.

McAdoo has never been a head coach at ANY level. I guess that's a good thing right?

Do I think we will roll, no, but I do think we have a solid GM for the first time in Snyder's ownership, a HC who has won championships at a semi pro level, and shown progression in the NFL, and have a young promising qb.

Garrett is banking on Romo,to me a dumb bet.

Pederson's been with Andy Reid a hell of a long time and anyone is better the Chip Kelly.Philly's D was not half bad.

McAdoo you're 100% right about but Bill Parcells was a head coach at the Air Force Academy one season pretty sure that didn't help for the NFL.Can he do as well only if Reese does his job well. All so he does have a ring so that can't hurt.

Gruden is still a question.(I like him) but was this a one time thing or can he do it all the time? These are not shots but legitimate questions about all the coaches in the NFC East.

Which was my point about the hires. I'm glad that neither team that was looking for a HC brought in someone who is clearly head and shoulders above an NFL average HC. Could McAdoo/Pederson be the next big thing sure, but if so, there's not a lick of track record to show it.
