Re: Redskins Trade for Alex Smith
We've got a proven QB for 5 years at a reasonable price. That's a good move.
Somebody said a 3rd for KC is definitely a loss, but we were not getting anything other than that, and bottom line we got him with a 4th, paid him his salary, and now we get a 3rd back. It's more of a wash then a loss. Had he panned out here great, but he didn't and we get our pick back. |

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
So Smith would have been a free agent and we're trading away the best slot corner in the league AND giving up a pick?
I'm back and forth on this trade without the Fuller inclusion. I think Cousins might have priced himself out of the market, so the Smith deal MIGHT have made sense. Argh, Redskins.

The decision makers once again fucked us. If Alex Smith was on this team last year he would have been abysmal. I cant stress this enough, our top fucking focus isn't defense, nor WR, nor special teams.......if we don't fix the run game this offseason, double digit losses next year. Draft a RB , pay a free agent and pay/draft a LG. pin this, time stamp it. double digit losses if we don't fix the running game.

Fuller had a good yr man, its not like he is jalen ramsey... He's a solid CB that is all there is to that. You are right though we NEED A RB bad. Smith is 33 soon to be 34, he has at most 3 years left probably, dont rule out drafting a QB at 13 yet

My hope is he is Brad Johnson 2.0. That's all I can say. Part of me is just glad this whole thing is over...

Remember this post in 2021.
Alex Smith will win the Redskins a SB with Jay Gruden. I truly believe that. HTTR

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
Yeah he was in Reid's system anybody remember the last QB Reid traded to the Redskins? Don't think we are headed to McNabb 2.0 but Reid knows value in QB the fact he was ready to let him walk says a lot to me.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
Reid was like, " Let me call those fucking dummies in Washington. I got over on those stupid asses w/ an old, fat washed up McNabb so I'll try them first. I know they'll be willing to give up a draft pick cause that's what they like to do. I bet this time I can even get one of their best starters too. Let me call Bruce directly."
