I'm more concerned about Bruce Allen dipping down into Jay Gruden's world and trying to have input into playing time. That shit reeks of desperation.

This is in line with Czaban's question about what happened to Monte after Gruden had referred to him as the Jordan Reed of the defense.

Gruden's response was essentially that because they traded for Ha Ha that he was playing.

Very vague, bizarre answer but makes total sense in this context.

Also, a week ago Andy Pollin said there was real heat between Allen and Gruden. Also, makes sense.

Even if true I am fine with that Dan has been known to crumble to media pressure. He used to be fire trigger happy and now he won't fire anyone when clear change is needed.

I'm willing to concede that keeping Gruden is ok as long as Allen goes. Is Club Jay real and a good reason to fire Jay? Yes. However, if Alex Smith doesn't return next year and we are screwed by his cap hit I'm ok with dumping Allen anyways since the season will most likely be unspectacular with another journeyman qb. Let a new exec focus on building up everything but the qb and wait a year for a better opportunity to bring in a new qb with a stronger team around him.

Also idk a damn thing about Schaffer as a football man but I consider him among the best in the contract negotiation field. If he took over as team prez and left the football scouting to the football ops I'd be fine with that.
