bryant is another matter. he has a world of talent but was so immature even parcells could not tolerate him. the question is what player you would get. to spent a lot of money on him is rolling the dice. the question would be whether he implodes again. i would rather the team go after someone less risky or, inthe case of koren robinson, someone who is likely not to cost as much as bryant is looking to get. on the other hand, except in the playoffs plaxico burress came up huge for the giants. is that what someone would get from bryant? or from robinson? that is why wideouts are so risky |

i am not saying that is the way the team should go, only that there are alternatives out there besides breaking the bank for someone like wayne. |

i do not think they will make the same mistake again this offseason, but there is no getting around the fact that they assembled an inadequate receiver corps this year. |

my point is simply that sometimes the prevailing wisdom is correct. the skins had a false optimism about the receiving corps. jacobs had never shown anything before that was anything close to proof that he could be an nfl receiver. thrash was found totally wanting by the eagles who were desperate for a number 1 or 2 receiver in years past. patten was the most expendable member of a new england receiving corps that looks better because of the excellence of tom brady. whom did they have that had proven he could be a reliable #2 receiver? no one.. that is exactly how it played out. |

killings did step up the latter part of the season. both boschetti and aki jones faded and spent most of the latter part of the year onthe inactive list. same with nic clemons. not sure if theses guys are going to step up or if they have maxed out and need to be replaced. we did so well with griffin that getting clancy fromthe giants might be another terrific signing. i expect noble will retire so it means we need a 4th interior lineman from somewhere to fill out the rotation. could be the draft or free agency |

Jurevicius would be a good add also, but I think Thrash can fill the role of 4th receiver just fine. Moss, Patten, Randle-El, Cooley, Portis... I think those are enough options for the QB.

![]() also you said something about patten not being a #2, but without a full year it'd be hard to tell (once he left our passing numbers dropped by 86 yards a game though, even with brunells two terrible games late, that is pretty stark). I agree that we need 2-3 more WRs though (between KR, KC, or maybe grabbing S moss, and bring in a min salary guy like reche C cause he's better than 4 of the guys we had playing WR this year) . |

as for DT #2/#3, cheap options include rocky bernard or rafting tapp and moving him inside after he bulks up. triplett is also out there, but may be more expensive than the team would need for a guy that sees much more limited snap counts. |
