If we would have had that type of #3 reciever to step in for David Patten, we would be playing the Steelers this week. We have greater needs on this team than another #1 reciever. How about a pass rusher, depth in the secondary and offensive line.

Re: Redskins Interested in TO

I'd love to see the Cowboys give up all that for him.

ALL that being said. If we do make a play for him and he does indeed come here. I feel confident that if any team can handle him, the Redskins can. If there is any team in the league that has such a team-first attitude, it's the Skins. They 1) won't put up with that crap and 2) TO HAS to know he needs to be on his best behavior if he wants to get a check somewhere else.

I'm not crazy about the idea of a hired gun, but if he comes here and he's wearing burgundy and gold, I'll cheer him just like Portis.

Speaking of Portis, can you imagine the Thursday press conferences if TO was there?! LOL

Re: Redskins Interested in TO

I don't buy it either. Why would anyone trade for TO when the Eagles need to cut him before that bonus is due next month anyway? And why if the Eagles do have trade partners would they trade him inside the division? And I still don’t buy that the redskins even want him. None of it adds up…

And if there is any truth to it...then who in DC is talking to PK to give him this info?

i think t.o. would put us as favorites next year, and i also think it would be a better fit in dc. because we have the players who would speak up and get in his face if he acts up, which he will. just think.....who could stop us?????????/

To be honest, if we can retain our team, I already think we could be the favorites, at least highly considered.

I'm not going to judge this TO thing until somthing more concrete comes out.

Re: Redskins Interested in TO

No way I think that the Eagles trade TO to a team in the division, not alone the Redskins who are swinging things in their favor to contend for the division. On the other hand, if they want to get something in return they may. Its, do they want to have something in return for TO, when if they just release him, we may go after him and get him anyway. Plus with Denver and KC possible interested, they may take what ever they give them just to keep him away from the Skins and the Cowboys. It will be interesting to see what happens, because they have to let him go before March 5th, I think to avoid that large roster bonus.

Re: Redskins Interested in TO

The TO situation is a stigma. If the Eagles organization in fact did what TO said they did (wanting to get first contract done quickly and promising a pay-raise the next year) then I can understand his antics.

I'm torn about this. On one hand he's what every team wants, he shows up on game-day, he doesnt have any off the field demons you have to deal with (guns, drugs, etc) he's known as the hardest worker on the team. First in, last out type of guy.

Yet on the other hand he has the ability to tear a locker room apart, tax the coaching staff, run his mouth, and be an all around ass.

I was wondering when the rumors of this would sprout up. Let's not forget, Vinny Cerrato drafted TO and apparently is still somewhat in love with him. I said TO had to go to a team with plenty of veteran leadership where he wouldn't be the one people rally around, and I think we __MIGHT__ have that in the Locker Room.

If you show me a contract that protects the Redskins heavily, I give a weary okay. I also think this whole situation wasn't lost on TO, I think he learned a lot from this whole situation. The fact that a large faction in the Eagles locker room still supports him nudges me that maybe this is more on the Eagles than we see.

I certainly won't be the least upset as long as he gets out of our division. I don't want to face him twice a year, that's for sure (but he'd love to go somewhere he plays the Eagles twice a year.)

As far as Dallas, I was under the impression TO didn't like Dallas. One of my favorite celebrations ever is him on the star!

Re: Redskins Interested in TO

Three things:

1. I just said this in another post, but, if T.O. comes to D.C. and thinks he can wear #81 I'm pretty sure i won't be the only one that has a problme with that. I know the Skins don't really retire numbers or anything, but we can't let this punk (regardless of how great he plays he's still a punk) sully Art Monk's memory here by wearing 81.

2. Does this remind anyone else of Freddie Mitchell last season? The Skins had little to no interest in him, but it seemed like he tried to make it seem like they did just to raise his value. This could be just another case of a FA (or disgruntled player) saying the Skins and Dan "Moneybags" Snyder want him.

3. Doesn't every locker room say they can handle a player like T.O.? Didn't Philly just say that a couple of years ago. Well some job they did. I think we need to be concerned with keeping this team on the path that we started this past season. We finally have some stability, we don't need T.O. to come in here and shake things up.

Granted we need a great receiver but I'd rather pass on this headcase. If we feel like we really must have him I say we try to get him on a one year contract just for a Super Bowl push, because anymore time with one team and T.O. will start bitching about something and we all know what happens then...

Re: Redskins Interested in TO

I am to 50-50 on this. I mean the thought of having Moss, Owens, Portis, Cooley is a freaking nightmare for any defense. Then on the other hand you have the negativity that TO has brought two both of the teams he has played for. I don't know. But if he in some way is wearing burgandy and gold I'll be rooting him on. Number 1 offense in the league would be a lock along with possibly top 5 defense. Oh man gives the shivers thinking about that.

all i have to say is i hope all they are doing is flirting with the idea of TO and thats all.
denver can have him.although i would love his talents but not his ego that goes along with it.

Re: Redskins Interested in TO

I'm with you Daseal. I can't help but imagine how unstoppable our offense could be with TO. Imagine TO, Moss, Cooley, and Portis all together on the same offense with Al Saunders running the show, damn we would really give defenses nightmares!

That being said I can't help but think of what a knucklehead he can be. Nobody to this point has been able to "tame" him and I doubt anyone will ever be able to. Perhaps we get a year or two out of him before he implodes again, that might be worth the risk to take a shot at winning it all.

I like this trade on one condition. TO has his tongue surgically removed.
