Some great and loyal fans around here giving up on the season already. Probably were on here last year in week 12 when we were 5-6 talking all this same trash. It ain't over 'til it's over.

it's different. last year we were 5-6 (.455) not 2-4 (.333), we hadn't fallen behind two nfc east teams (0-2 now, vs 6-0 in 2005), we hadn't gone 0-3 in the division (we went 10-2), we had an easier schedule, and we almost won a bunch of other games (35-36 bucs, failed 2pt conversion vs broncos to tie as time expired, OT loss to SD, all VERY close games).

right now, unless we're super lucky, we'll hit the bye at 2-5 and need to go 8-1 to get back in with no hint of defense or committment to the running game yet in sight.

I would like to thank the Redskins' organization for destroying any kind of hope for a good NFL team. The best coaches and players money can buy........ Yeah right what a freaking joke!!!!!!! You guys suck balls!!!!!!

I will pay to see Gibbs football as long as he shall live and grace us with his presence in DC. I still have faith in Gibbs. Hall hits FG at home vs Vikes or etc different attitude here. In this day and age people are quick to jump to conclusions and consequences. We should remember that consistancy is the answer.

I agree that we really are lucky to have Joe Gibbs as coach for as long as he desires. Gibbs' run from 1981-92 is something for which I will be forever grateful and probably never will experience again.

But the irony in your post is that Gibbs and the coaches made the decision to start the season with the oft-injured, never-healed John Hall as our placekicker. Hall never should have been our PK this season.

Re: John Riggins Show - Joe Gibbs

Brunell doesn't have fumbilitis, and is actually executing...might not be great, but definitely better than Warner was. Plus, you have to assume that Leinart was taking a good amount of snaps in practice for that move to happen. Al Saunders has come out and said backups get no snaps with the first team offense.

But that's besides the point. With the bye week coming up, no coach in their right mind would make a switch now. If the Colts win, look for it to open up between Collins and Campbell. If Brunell gets the win, I don't see a change made during the bye week.

we're only 2 games out of 1st w/9 nfc games to go! don't be surprised if brunell starts even if we lose at indy, but i feel a win for real.

Exactly...Everybody knew this division would be a battle down to the wire. Everyone has been saying that since February. Someone has to be in last place at this point. Unfortunately it is the Redskins, but there is a lot of football left to play including three home division games. Let's not lose faith just yet. A win going into the buy would give us the much needed momentum going into FedEx to face off with the Cowgirls. We can do this!

yes, and hopefully the injury bug will be minimal late in the yr. Gibbs teams always play well in dec., plus other nfc east teams will have problems, e.g. TO, coughlin's g-men wearing down

Re: John Riggins Show - Joe Gibbs

Some change has to be made though. Not firing a coach, and maybe not benching Brunell YET. But something to light a fire under these guys because obviously Gibbs' pep talks arent doing it. Spring said soft wasnt the word for it when describing the teams play. Bench some poorly playing starter, just for the sake of getting these guys scared for their job. The Ravens are 4-2 and are firing their O-Coor Fassel today. We are 2-4 with 1 million question marks and we are going to do nothing. Again, I am not saying to fire anyone.

What Leinart did was provide a spark to his team. The Cardinals aren't that good, but Leinart provided a spark, something our team is missing with MB under center. Once again, I find myself hoping for just the slightest injury, nothing serious, but maybe an ankle sprain. When Brunnell was taken back for x-rays, I actually pepped up thinking maybe Collins could come in and save the day....damn speedy golf carts at FedEx! The season will be lost before Gibbs benches MB.

Re: John Riggins Show - Joe Gibbs

Jason Campbell can thank his lucky stars to have been drafted by the Redskins under Joe Gibbs' leadership. Campbell has played in six different systems in six years, and he is now in the most complex by far, one that Mark Brunell with all his experience has not mastered yet. Gibbs will keep Campbell in a learning mode so that when he comes in, he will succeed.

If you put Campbell in now, you risk destroying his tree of confidence with all the tree boring worms that fans will pour onto him in the thousands when he fails to play with extraordinary effectiveness. Right now Campbell's confidence tree needs to get stronger and taller before he is ready to go.

I am amazed with the grace that Mark Brunell holds up under the antipathy sent at him. Even an experience player like him is going to be effected by all that criticism and lack of support.

The fact is that just like fans can be the 12th man, they can also have the effect of making us play like we have only 9 or 10 men, by harming the players with all this scapegoating.
