Bugel: Forget it, he's rolling.

Joe Gibbs: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough... [thinks hard] the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go! [runs out, alone; then returns] What the fuck happened to the Redskins I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Coach, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Manning, he's a dead man! Dungy, dead! Polian -

Bugel: Dead! Coach is right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional offense that could take years and cost millions of $$$. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.

GW: We're just the guys to do it.

Team: Let's do it.

Joe Gibbs: LET'S DO IT!!

wow! HOW FUCKING GREAT WAS THAT! i still laughing and ........and..........it hurts.....

Anyone watch Friday Night Lights? He took their worthless asses out in a Katrina like down pour and made them run windsprints up a steep hill until they threw up. Then he pep talked 'em until they wanted to do more. All at like midnight. We need our guys on D to stop thinking and just play f*cking football. Go out and hit the crap outta people everywhere. If you're gonna get beat make it because you were trying to blow the guy up rather than play a perfect technique that gets you beat.

On offense. Grow a set. Start getting mean. When you block someone they should hurt from it. At least one guy from the other team a game should be out of the game because we blocked him so hard he couldn't get up.

Stop all this panty waist cutesy crap and beat the crap out of the other team.

shhhh... don't tell him....

What is there to say? I don't know, but if there is one person who can motivate a team psychologically, regardless of the sports, it's gotta be Joe Gibbs.

I think he'll say something along the lines of "This is our superbowl".... "This team has to show they've got heart".... it won't be the usual. He's good at being crafty and adapting his shpeal to the game. Redskins haven't look flat effort wise this season IMO. They just simply get beat... it's not a lack of effort, it's a lack of execution thats lead us in the little hole we're in.

HTTR, and godspeed Joe and co.

You're point? Doesn't mean it is a bad idea. Actually I think Matty is right. No pep talk ever given won a game. I tend to think the idea that pep talks really inspire is more of a tv-land idea. No one ever played well because someone got them pumped up. I am dubious of the effect of pep talks. Guys either want to play hard or they don't. Maybe a pep talk gets them going but no guy is sitting there in the middle of the fourth quarter thinking "Gee that pep talk has really got me going right now. if it weren't for that great pep talk I'd be going through the motions right now."

EVERY coach of EVERY team everywhere gives their team "their" form of a "pep talk" before and during every game. I'm pretty sure they don't think they are wasting their time. I feel confident they believe their team benefits from it, and plays better as a result of that.

Only thing that should pep them up is to say that Dallas has a better record than you do. That would be enough for me to whip the first person's butt I see...

Re: If you could give the Skins a pep talk....

I'd like to see GW get the defense in front of the flag pole at Redskins Park first thing in the morning. Have the security guards there, and as soon as everyone is gathered, have the flag raised.

THE CANADIAN FLAG

Then in the salty terms that GW is capable of (and Gibbs is not), explain to them how important it is that given the way they have been covering this year they better learn the words to Oh Canada because that is exactly where they will be playing next.

He would then explain to them that Canadian Football is a perfect fit for this defense given their lack of success on third down. The CFL solves this problem: THERE IS NO FOURTH DOWN IN THE CFL!

I would probably make them watch this clip over and over and then we'd talk about how they can incorporate these ideals into each game from here on out...

Re: If you could give the Skins a pep talk....

I would have GW give the speech. We need his defense to step up more than our offense. He needs to have the vets create that swagger from the last two years. I dont know what to have him say, but he seems to definately be the most fired up coach...... oh and have buges say something. that man can get an 80 year old women fired up!!

I wish that a pep talk was all we needed, but unfortunately pep talks don't win games.

Re: If you could give the Skins a pep talk....

No, Matty is correct. Pep talks don't win games. However, people, and teams can be inspired to rise up and succeed against seemingly huge odds. Hopefully, we have a staff and team that can accomplish that.............NOW!
