Re: Taylor

i hope he doesnt end up like lavar, with people knowing he has the physical ability. that ability. just not translating to sucess on the field. i know me, personally, have expected bigger and better things out of sean taylor. right now he is just a good nfl player

Re: Taylor

With the state of our D, Taylor and Arch were having to cover way to much. Last time I looked, they were the leading tacklers on the team................that's a problem

Re: Taylor

taylor hasnt been able to make the bug plays this year. there is a reason behind this he is playing with archelta both are the hard hitting types of safteys. taylor has speed but i think u can use him better with more of a cover safety back there with him like a ryan clark from last year

The problem blitzing Taylor is that it leaves Archeleta as our last line of defense downfield - a very scary thought. One of the long TD passes the Jags got a few weeks back came on a Taylor blitz. I prefer him patroling the middle and scaring the hell out of opposing WRs. The only defensive highlights of the first Dallas game was T.O.'s obvious fear of #21. Taylor's amazing forced fumble of Julius Jones was pretty sweet as well.

Thos thiings were good, but not AMAZING. Taylor doesnt make good plays on the ball. He plays like a linebacker, not a safety, maybe we should move him up. I think we need more speed and quickness at safety, while we need more aggressiveness at the OLB spot. Taylor is a terrific tackler, but doesnt read the ball in the air that well, and he is known to bite on qb fakes. He's the franchise right now, with portis.

Apparently you have only been watching Taylor this season. Taylor is a beast, and he isnt that bad at pass coverage, when there is a decent corner, and he is not matched one on one. Not too many safeties in the league, can do that, so your expectations are unrealistic.

Your description of ST is more accurate for AA, who is even worst at all those things, he bits very hard, and all he can do is tackle. Right now the coaching staff has seen that, and if you look at film, Arch plays closer to the line, while Taylor drops. More or less of a cover 1, where Taylor has the whole backfield as his responsibility. Although Taylor gets smoked, this is the best thing we can do at this point, because our line cant generate pressure, so AA must try to get there, and ST is responsible for the rest. Without decent corners, the best safeties in the league are toast.

Re: Taylor

I don't think taylor is doing a bad job....he's our one spark on defense. I was just wondering if we would help us more as a converted linebacker, dont you think he could be an amazing OLB???? And he doesnt go well with Arch, I hope vincent stays in there, i dont wanna see #40 every again.

You still don't seem to be getting it. It is not Taylor that doesn't go well with Arch. It is ARCH that doesnt go well with Taylor, or the rest of the defense in this case. It was a huge mistake, and Taylor is a good safety, who can cover well too if the overall D improved(Look at all his highlight films of coverage plays before this year).

Moving him to position he doesn't know how to play isn't gonna help. Taylor is good at attacking and stopping the run, because he knows how to run around players that have already been blocked. I dont know how well Taylor can shed Olinemen blocking.

Re: Taylor

i am aware that arch doesnt go well with him, but we are stuck with arch for the moment. So I was suggesting something we could do with what we have. Taylor makes way too many tackles from the safety spot, indicated a big weakness at linebacker.

AA is leading the teams in tackles, it signifies that in general that our LBs suck. Why would Taylor be a safety? Still doesnt make sense, who would play safety for him? Arch? AA is far worst in coverage. If anything, if this crazy idea were to ever be put into place, then AA would be safety.

That being said, it is a ridiculous idea.
