That's idiotic. Portis has been a tough and reliable guy until this unfortunate year. Martin and Holmes missed time EVERY YEAR.

No comparison.

Clinton is going to missed, but this is why we got Duckett and he looked ok today.

Re: CP broken hand

You can only feel bad for Portis. They bring in this new system which LJ racked up major yards in Kansas City so I'm sure Portis was excited at the opportunity. Now, with 8 games gone he has had injury after injury and is on pace for his lowest rushing total of his career. It just sucks because everytime he gets hurt he is just playing extra hard which is his style, like the preseason injury on the INT return. The guy plays so hard and it's great to have him but he is just having bad luck with staying healthy.

Re: CP broken hand

imagine being a running back who likes to run downhill and instead sent to the outside play after play where every defense in the league knows you'll be. here's your result.

Re: CP broken hand

If Portis gets shelved, it could benfit the longevity of his career. What's the point of risking his future on a lost season?

Might as well use Duckett and Betts now while we still have them.

Re: CP broken hand

Portis is done for the year.

Figure on him being out for at least 4 weeks. We'll definitely be officially eliminated by that point. No use in bringing him back for garbage time. Let's see what Betts and Duckett can do, and maybe we can figure out who stays and who goes next year.

man this is just so utterly tragic on so many levels.

i didn't see one CP run called up the middle, they just kept running him to the outside where the defense was just waiting for him (same with Brunell's passes - and the inevitable pick). i wish Al Saunders broke his arm carrying his 700page playbook. maybe then it'd open to a different fucking page.

It really makes me wonder what they're going to do about the offense next year. Is Saunders outta here? Or does Gibbs make him incorporate the running plays that Portis likes?

CP was definitely not happy with all the outside runs.

i shudder to think. Portis better stay the hell HERE. one thing i do know, is that TJ won't be doing that outside crap Saunders is so obsessed with, so hopefully Gibbs will remind Al about the middle of the field....

OR...we keep Betts. yawwwn.

If you think this Al Saunders offense solely you need to study a little harder.

This smells of Joe Gibbs and it stinks. The same offense we saw in the playoffs last year, only the Skins have more Wide outs this year.

So I take you hate Joe Gibbs?

Not sure what you've been watching this year but it's definitely not a Joe Gibbs offense. Outside of the Cowboys game where we saw some counters, this running game is Saunders all the way. Smarten up kid.
