Re: What's the best thing that has EVER happened to you?

Finding this site....

Seriously though, a lot of great things that it's hard to pick just one. Most recently the birth of my niece this past August. Unfortunately, she was born quite ill and still has a long road to recovery but she's awesome. I'm really enjoying my responsibilities as the "cool uncle" who showers her with gifts.

I wish I could see her more often to help raise her beyond just bringing fun toys for her though. It's the one thing I really miss about having moved away from home. I mean I don't have any kids of my own but it's really amazing what a grip a little baby can have on your life. I'm sure all parents here know what I'm talking about. You see that little baby and all you want to do is take care of her (or him). Ok, I'm done rambling now

Re: What's the best thing that has EVER happened to you?

This is going to be a theme for a lot of people:

1 tie) The birth of my daughter two months ago. Hard to describe what it feels like to see the little tyke pop out and get placed on my wife's belly.

1 tie) Day I got married.

Other proud/fond moments that don't quite compare, but are still pretty cool:

The day I got a hole-in-one
My honeymoon in Aruba
The 'Skins 22-19 win over Dallas this year - I've been to three Redskins games in my life, and this happened to be one of em.
Graduating from college
Graduating from grad school
Buying my house
The day I the wife and I got our dog. Dogs really are great - immediate member of the family and best friend.
The day when I was 8 years old and caught a foul ball off the bat of Mike Schmidt at a Phillies game.

My wife and I feel the same way about our dogs. We have 2 Basset Hounds, and they make us laugh daily. Great dogs, and totally a part of my family.

Re: What's the best thing that has EVER happened to you?

Oddly enough, marrying my wife was not the best thing that happened to me at the time. I got there early, and the church was locked, it was 115 degrees outside and I was in a black tux. I turn out to be the best decision I ever made though...it will be 10 years of Marriage in May.

1. Re-dedicating my life to Christ at the age of 20.

2. Marrying my husband. 12 years and still going strong.

3. Meeting Joe Gibbs.

Re: What's the best thing that has EVER happened to you?

Best sports thing for me was attending the triple overtime Penn State Orange Bowl victory last year, and then taking over Miami with about 100 thousand hooligans afterwards. Also, the Penn State/ Nebraska game in 02 (PSU 40-7, revenge for 94) and the Ohio State game last year were both amazing, just because the town blew it's top. Last year after the OSU game there were probably 5,000 people in white shirts in Beaver Canyon just raging. Third would be the Skins/ Dallas game last year. Actually, it sucks to say but I don't really have too many great sports memories after the age of 11, when the Skins won their last superbowl. But, let me say this here, watch the f out for Penn State and the Skins next year.

My 9 yr old daughter - is the best and she loves football!
Sitting in the corner of the endzone in 1983 in Pasendena about 10 rows up from Mr. T and watching big John run for the victory! (Yes, I was there)
Sitting in RFK and watching about 50 home games during my teenage years
Sitting at my uncle's house watching movies with Rusty Tillman and other Redskin players (my uncle used to do some work for the skins)

Re: What's the best thing that has EVER happened to you?

Best thing is finding my wife, marrying my wife, and living our lives together. It's just an incredible feeling.

However, I just feel blessed to have the people I do have in my life, whether it's family, friends, work, message boards. Life is just a great ride, and I'm glad to be ridin' along. Just livin'. L-I-V-I-N'

Re: What's the best thing that has EVER happened to you?

1. Kids. Both of them. They saved me and taught me more about myself than I ever would've found out on my own.

2. On my 7th birthday all Iwanted was a huffy bike with these cheesy white plastic hubcaps on the wheels. They were solid white. I saw the bike in wal mart and fell in love.

The bike was like 65 bucks, and we weren't well off, but my mom bought it for me and that saturday I took it to a local bike show and bought a raffle ticket with 10 bucks of my B-day money and won a 500 dollar GT stunt bike, with all the pegs and a braking system that allowed you to spin the handlebars all the way around without getting the wires crossed...

That was the most excited I think I had been in my life...

My first time I got laid I was watching the little mermaid with my girlfriend and had no Idea what I was doing and just stopped, because I was so freakin nervous I couldn't do anything lol....

The second time was much better....

actually the second time was a couple of hours later, but we put in dazed and confused... I think that helped.. lol...
