Re: So what you're telling me is...
I'm not talking about quantity, I'm talking about quality. Sure we have bodies to plug in there, but none of them except Lemar Marshall have any type of experience whatsoever. If we have an injury or two at LB we could really be in trouble.

Re: So what you're telling me is...
What team really could overcome 2 injuries at LB? At least we have some young talent that MIGHT just be able to show us something.

Re: So what you're telling me is...
You guys are totally missing my point. We have glaringly little experience in our reserve LBs. That is my only point. I never suggested we needed more LBs or that Rocky, Marcus, or Fletcher won't be very solid. ALL I'M SAYING is there is no denying the inexperience of our backups. That is why I disagree with the notion that we have great depth.

Re: So what you're telling me is...
The one LB we picked up Sartz.....they wrote in Pro football wkly that he played many positions. I'm sure this is why they picked him up. He has played CB, LB, and Safety. I belive he is an oversized Safety or an undersized DE so I bet they use him as a DE on third downs for the rush.

Re: So what you're telling me is...
Calm down.
Since Gibbs came back we've used at least one pick on a LB in each draft, and this is the 2nd time we've taken two. |

i thought we drafted two dtackles last year and added a dend free agent to go along with the "aged" dl players he had in 2005 and still have now but i guess developing the youth we have is pointless...we need to make a huge splash in the draft or free agency every year otherwise the fans get anxious |

Re: So what you're telling me is...
Our LB depth IMO at this point is fine. Fletch, Marshall, Washington, Rocky, Trucks?, Campbell (who I agree, even though I like him alot, will probably be a lifer ST), Sartz and Blades. Phew. Sounds like a lot. I absolutely LOVE Dallas Sartz and I think Blades is quality. Were fine in LB. We needed to address the D-line and infuse some young blood into it but, with limited picks, our options are very limited. Taking the TE and Palmer were also good picks IMO. Palmer will get better and shows lots of skill. He'll be fine as a young back-up which may be necessary cuz we ALL know that Brunell&Collins ain't gettin any younger (or better).
Bottom line: we needed more picks.

Re: So what you're telling me is...
Man, the mass hysteria has turned into quite the comedy.
We're fine at LB. I really don't think all this injury talk is of that much importance. Are the LB's banged up? Yeah... but they're not crippled. The off season is very long, and wounds will heal. The fact that we've been going after LB's to me implies that our defense may be changing to a 3-4, as opposed to indicating injured players.
