So was it Joe's idea or ESPN's?
I'd still like to know...please PM if you know anything.
It just doesn't make any sense to me.

Re: ESPN Sacks Joe Theismann

He was on a local Espn affiliate in SWFL last Friday. He sounded good and did a thirty-ish minute int with the locals. All he said he was doing was some kind of national ad work with Kingsford......the charcoal people for some tailgating ad campaign/.
That's SICK! I hope something breaks for him............QUICK

Re: ESPN Sacks Joe Theismann

I'm actually happy about this. Joe Theismann is one of my least favorite commentators of all time and just sounds ignorant most of the time. Unfortunately, that fits the mold for a lot of the other commentators out there and at least Joe brought some Redskins homerism to the table to counteract the Emmitts and Irvins. Unfortunately, of all of the former Redskins who have now turned to commentary, I cannot think of a single one that I enjoy listening to.

Ah, I forgot about Mark May since he does college. I do like Mark May and (if we count Desmond Howard) I don't mind him either. I was more thinking of Riggins when I wrote that post. I hate Riggins.

Don’t freak out on me for saying this, but I think Aikman is one of the best commentators out there. I always thought Joey T was a pompous ass!

I think Joe would be a good fit at NFL Network.

Re: ESPN Sacks Joe Theismann

I'll have to say when he first came out I did not like the fact that he would seat in the booth and say what play the skins were going to run. If I'm correct that lasted one or so games and he was not allowed to do any games of the skins for some time. I grew to like him as he did a good job of explaining the games through the eyes of the QB. I really don't pay much attention to any announcers and the only time I really got ticked was our game this years against the Eagles when they forgot tha they were announcing a football game.

Re: ESPN Sacks Joe Theismann

I'm sure when they signed Kornheiser on, they didn't want to Washington homer's in the booth...and you could kinda see Jaws soaring up the ladder on ESPN...and I actually like him in the booth. I grew up as a kid with Joe as my hero for the Skins and always liked having him do the Sunday night games...and now other than Al and John, the whole new Sunday night thing on NBC sucks!!!!

Re: ESPN Sacks Joe Theismann

Knowing how convoluted Joe's image is of himself, Im sure he doesnt even know yet. Denial Denial Denial. I liked him with a helmet on when I didnt have to hear him lick his own balls.

He's condescending in his delivery.
