I love it when we get on players for not acting upset enough.

Like it would really accomplish anything if he threw a tantrum.

I think our kicker stinks.

To miss a 41 yarder that badly yesterday is unacceptable. That should have cost us that game and maybe our season. That kick from Rackers goes in we're screwed!

I think more importantly yesterday were his kickoffs. I think only 1 kickoff was inside the 10 yard line! I don't know if that was schemed, but it certainly wasn't what I was seeing in earlier games with most of his kicks going inside the 5 and into the endzone.

Wow. Simply wow. Are we sure the Skins won yesterday?

Suisham has 10 total attempts this year, hitting what he should (5-6 inside 40) and you're bagging him because he missed one kick. There is only one kicker who is perfect FG wise on the season (Jay Feely), and you have veterans like Jeff Wilkins, Rackers, Mare who are having off years.

He'll get it straightened out. Let him miss 2 or 3, and let him miss a GW kick, and we'll talk. Until then, he's doing an adequate job, so let's leave it at that. Bringing in competition at this point is pointless.

suisham has never been a good kicker, and never will be a good kicker...nough said

he can't kick straight and the coaching staff knows it

Interesting.

Why didn't they bring in any competition for him in camp if he's so bad and the coaches know it?

It's funny that people have such a short memory around here. Does no one remember that up until Washington signed John Hall, they changed kickers once or twice every season. They lost several games in that stretch because of missed field goals.

What's the point of bringing in competition? They'll bring in someone who'll look solid on the practice field, and be hot for a week or two, then fall off like every other kicker that's signed in the middle of the season, and it'll be back to the drawing board in the offseason. Suisham is 70% on the season. That's not great, but it's servicable. He may just be in a rut, like 90% of the kickers in the league suffer at some point in time. If he misses a few more critical kicks, then by all means, hit the panic button.

Re: Is Our Kicker Doing A Good Job??

kicker Rob Bironas proved to be a "loss prevention" specialist.

The former Best Buy security guard opened the scoring with a 52-yard field goal, ended the contest with a 29-yarder and converted six others in between during a thrilling 38-36 victory. Bironas, a former Arena League performer (AF2, too) who participated in training camps for three NFL franchises before finally making the Titans in 2005, became the first kicker in NFL history to kick eight field goals in one contest.

Is this the same guy that kicked a 63 yarder to beat the Colts last year and tie the record?

Suisham is decent. Hasn't looked great or terrible, he's about what you expect.

I'd like to stick w/him. Contrary to the tuna & some other coaches, I believe continuity in the kicking game is crucial. Sure he's missed a few that were makeable, but he's had good games too. Remember that he nailed the game winner v. Miami from 40. I thought that was a good omen for his season. he's a little off now, but I think he'll get back on track.

I was hitting the panic button yesterday when he missed that chip shot up 14-6. No excuse for that. Ball missed by 20 yards EAST!!!

Re: Is Our Kicker Doing A Good Job??

He's shown signs of developing a hook. Not good. When I have the hooks, I try not to swing so hard. Just a thought in case Danny Smith is a reader.

On kickoffs, I think he's either nursing something or they're purposely kicking high short ones for coverage reasons. At any rate, he's showed a stronger leg in the past on kickoffs, so I wonder.

That's like saying Pamela Anderson is hot when she's not a trashy skank.
