Re: Mr. Humble Green
Well I've told the story a couple of times about one of my experiences with D Green, back when he was a regular guest (paid guest) on a sports show I was a producer on back in DC.
So one time Darrell Green was in our studio and one of my co-workers came in to the studio with his 6-year old grandson and asked Green if he would sign his grandson's football. Darrell said "No, what's in it for me?" So I was there and said "the satisfaction of making a young kid happy" And he actually said "that's not good enough." That's just one example.

Re: Mr. Humble Green
I am beginning to have mixed feelings about Green. When I was little, I mailed him a letter with my only DG card inside and he mailed it back with an autograph 3 years later. When my brother was little, Green stuck around to sign something for my brother, after he and my father waited in the rain remarking that, "if you can wait in the rain, the least I can do is give you my autograph." Recently however...he has left a bad taste in my mouth. I ran into him at a pre-season game a few years back in Carolina, and even though he was in a hurry, he brushed me and another fan off without even acknowledging us. You guys are right about this week too...he comes off as having a bit of an "its all about me" attitude behind his remarks...I don't know if its just the way I'm interpreting it or not, but it will be interesting to hear his induction speech.
