Hey Hess, what time did you get to camp, and how many people were already there waiting in line for the gates to open when you did? I'm trying to get to camp sometime before Monday and I plan on getting up early so I can either get one of those VIP passes for the lottery tix or I can get a prime spot next to the fence.

I was in line at the front gate by 7:10, before they opened and there were about 60 people deep (two lines). Then I went in, walked down the hill and parked my self at the end on the rail.. near the endzone on the left. If you look at the "Zshade" pic I posted you can see right where I was. Once you have your spot on the rail don't leave it, or kiss it goodbye. Oh, and take bug spray!!!!

LOL. I'll just stick to the Dancing with the Stars re-runs! All in all, looks like you had a great time. Bless you, that's what being a Redskin fan is all about. I'm glad the players take the time to meet and greet the fans. GO SKINS!!

Those pics are great, glad you and your son had a great time.

thanks for sharing, looks like you had a pretty good day overall. i'm kinda bummed i don't have leave till after the open practices are all done :/

last i heard i'm getting really good (free) pre-season tickets for the 28th though, which will definitely rock if it works out that way.

Re: My AWESOME day at Training Camp

Anyone ever been to fan apperciation day? Is it worth going? I am sure it is crazy crowded, but is it impossible to get any autographs? Is it easier? Just wondering if it is worth the 3 hour and 30 minute drive.

I actually planned my day to be there BEFORE fan appeciation day thinking I'd get a good spot on the rail.... and take a look a my pics... it was good plan.

Most days like those are so crowded you just can't get your shot. Think ahead!

You should probably go on a day other than Fan Appreciation Day. I went back in '05 and while it wasn't completely horrible, I couldn't see anything due to crowds near 15,000 people. The autograph signing sessions isn't worth the wait either, all of the big name players' lines fill up quickly, whereas if you go to the less crowded tables you have a chance to get a lot of autographs. When I went my parents went to the lesser known players' tables while I got into Lavar's line, and I ended up standing the entire time in Lavar's line while my parents got multiple autographs, including Chris Samuels', Jon Jansen's, Shawn Springs', Marcus Washington's, amongst others.
