Free agent upgrade can come from Dockery (well a younger player), but Jason Brown is still out there, who would be a big upgrade, but at the guard position. We could get a tackle upgrade through the draft, especially if one of the top 5 tackles is available at #13.

LT? If we put Rinehart at left tackle you can kiss Jason Campbell goodbye.

Well, you edited your original post after I made that comment. Anyway, like wilsowilso said, in the winter meetings the coaches basically said Rinehart isn't a contributor whatsoever right now. I think we'll make a push for Dockery, if not I expect us to re-sign Kendall on the cheap.

Too soon to write off Rinehart as a bust

They should get at least one OL in free agency and at least one in the draft.

I wonder if they're bringing Kendall back

Sign Dock and Willis then they can take the BPA come draft day.

my sentiments exactly. those two moves would allow us to do pretty much whatever we wanted on draft day.

I don't think it's possible to get two more expensive free agents under the cap?

Dock is in, let's hope Willis soon follows and pray Orapko is available at 13.

Ok... there's a lot of good stuff happening so i'm hesitant to nit-pick but Orakpo is not our guy if we go defense @ 13. If we go defense w/ the 13th pick Rey Maluauga is the man. We're already thin at LB and our defense, regardless of big Al, will continue to center around London. Like GTripp has said if he gets hurt, and he showed signs of wearing down last season, things will not go well. Rey is an animal. He can play SLB for as long as Fletcher is our QB on D but if the worst happened we'd have him to step in. Rey is the hardest hitter in the '09 draft and exactly what we need.

... that said we may still trade down in which case Orakpo is def out of the question and Rey may well be too (hard to tell cuz his combine was lousy and he doesn't show the speed everyone wants).

I'm a big fan of Maluagua, but I heard they(The Redskins) were asking Orapko about playing LB at the combine ..

Think with all this money being spent now that we are going to trade down? With the Haynesworth deal and the Hall resigning, what is the cap situation for acquiring a FA offensive lineman and our draft picks?

Re: Will We look to up grade the OL next?

i think willis is doable and orakpo at 13 would be my choice too, but we'll have to get closer to see what happens there.

still possible to get a pick for golston and sign kendall as depth, but there's a good chance with the tight cap space that we forgo that with a willis signing.

Love to get Willis and then we could get that LB in the draft!
