83 New England Brandon Tate - WR 4 year $2.505 contract, $755,000 signing bonus SUP Washington Jeremy Jarmon - DE 4 year $2.505 million contract, $755,000 signing bonus I guess it's because this guy is the middle pick in the draft. It's cool though, probably saved some money because I bet the numbers go up next year, because they always go up and also the no cap thing would raise prices. |

Re: Jarmon signed
i really like the personality and mind set of this jarmon kid from everything ive read. seemed like he was a good student, hard worker, quality person even did some college plays.
just comes across so far as a well grounded appreciative guy who will hold himself accountable, seems like he he set the example for on the field and off the field stuff for the wildcats too. i just really like humble hard working players like this (i think orakpo is also of the same mind set - quality person who only wants to live breath and think football) good job by the skins in drafting talent and dedication. go skins!!

Re: Jarmon signed
Getting Jarmon signed is a relief! Now all we need is a big improvement in the O-line. I know I keep saying this, and I hate to state the obvious, but we're in for a losing season if we don't get stronger there.

Since you keep saying it, I will keep saying my counterpoint. Our Line is deep (except Samuels) with mid level talent. Teams have won with lesser lines, and every position has a backup who can come in and maintain the level(I am kinda giving E. Williams (C) a boost here, but I don't think he would be a noticeable drop from Rabach). If after one or 2 preseason games, we see we don't have a player to sub in for Samuels, we will have to look at the other teams cuts, but overall, we should be able to plug and chug with the best of the teams. This is different then last year when our 1st line was tattered(Kendall Thomas Heyer), and our second line couldn't keep up (Jansen and Geisinger). Our First line is younger (fresher) and our second is more able. This is my belief, with the understanding that a backup LT will be an invaluable pickup at some point (Levi Jones after he knows he's not gonna start for some other team and lowers his pay req'ts) |

Re: Jarmon signed
I like it. Hell I'd like any nickname that cross references any rap group from the 80's.

Re: Jarmon signed
Just saw his video with Al Michaels on Redskins.com. He really seems like a good guy, the kind of guy you want in the locker room. Great pickup!
I hope he's a quick study and can beef up in the weight room ASAP. We may need him if someone goes down.. Of course, I was also excited about Erasmus last year who failed me.. But in contrast Jarmon is a promising rookie who has great potential (vs. Erasmus who was an injured bust who we tried out).. |

Re: Jarmon signed
Being that we're in a recession this is going to be a slow process. Like Matty said, if the guys around him don't start signing then most likely he won't be here the 1st day of camp. I think that's what happened in '07 with LL so it just depends on negotiations and the slotting of the players.

Re: Jarmon signed
There are still 20 2nd round picks unsigned, that's also kinda crazy

Re: Jarmon signed
Man, people griped about AH's deal. What if we give Orakpo Sanchez like money! that would screw up the whole curve, who knows we could start a whole hold out issue for the teams around us! LOL
