Re: Smoot lays the Smackdown (Redskins vs. Bucs)

^I'm not a hater of JC, I just think you either have an excellent QB with simply good talent around him like the Patriots or you have a simply good QB with excellent talent around him like Pittsburg. I think we are in the later, but we don't have excellent O-line players and our skilled positions need a lot of work.

I still say our failure to get any production out of Thomas and Kelly is due to our lack of NFL quality WR coaching. Hixon must go. These guys are 2nd rounders and some slated them to go in the 1st round.

Davis needs better training or he needs to step up.

Whatever run blocking scheme were using teams are clogging it.

Why aren't we spreading out defenses? again the O-line gets in bunch formation, I presume to create a nice pocket for JC, but when we try running plays the defense can keep all the runs between the tackles better and clog the lanes. Which is why the Giants, and Dallas are running the ball better then us. Can someone tell coach Zorn that Alridge is on the team?

JC..I was watching a little bit of Balt NE and this guy Flacco is already better than JC. He just looks more comfortable out there, looks more like a polished NFL QB in his 2nd year. Just an observation. But glad to see JC bring us back and play a nice 2nd half.

Kelly....Where is Marko Mitchell? I'm tired of both Kelly and Thomas.

Rogers...His job is to cover the other teams WR, not catch the ball. So as bad as he is at catching the ball, let's all remember he's a DB, not a wr.

I completely agree -- Thomas and Kelly have not shown a nose for the ball or that they can do a lot with it after the catch. I would give Marko Mitchell a shot and see what happens. At this point, what do you have to lose? I was also surprised we weren't throwing to ARE is the slot -- when you don't have great protection, a quick slant should produce 4-5 yards, which seemed to be the amount we needed on most of our 3rd downs, coincidentally.

Flacco is probably the most improved QB in the NFL, last year to this year. I thought Campbell was a LOT better last year, but now, Flacco probably holds a small edge. Flacco is a top 11 or 12 QB.

What the hell is that Kool-Aid laced with? Flacco has been head and shoulders better since the middle of last year. Campbell would have a hell of a time even beating out Troy Smith to back-up Flacco. And we don't even need to debate it. Campbell will likely bounce around the league as a backup for the rest of his career while Flacco will start for the Ravens for the next 10-15 years. File this under 'Wait and See.'

Not even close. Not even close.

It's securely filed.

Yeah this needs to be debated later on, but right now? Flacco just looks the part of a total stud QB for the next decade or more. Now I don't think there is any need to debate Troy Smith and JC.

Seriously give Markos some time and throws. I know he played against 3rd stringers but Kelly and Thomas aren't doing jack

Sadly, this may happen. Marko got in the game some v. the rams as I recall. I didn't see him yesterday or in Detroit.

Kelly just cannot get separation, yet JC continues to go to him. I know he's tall & JC is trying to get him in the game by making a play in tight coverage, but it seems the guy is never open.

Thomas' routes look very lazy, at least on the few occassions where they replayed the coverage. I don't have good feelings about the guy developing. I'm afraid we still have the problem we've had for a few years, lack of a #2 wr playmaker.

If anything, I actually really liked Thomas on kickoff returns. I think that could be his niche.

Malcom Kelly is all hype no catches and no TDs. I really don't see what many see in him. You want to see a tall receiver catching the ball? See Brandon Marshall vs the Cowboys. That right there is a how you catch the god damn ball.

Yeah -- I wonder if there's anybody here who still thinks these guys need more time, that we're expecting too much from second year receivers.

Shouldn't we be seeing something by now?

Exactly!! See Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss, etc. Moss makes better attempts at jump balls than Kelly..lol. I am being serious. Not saying he has height but he goes up for it.

Not since maybe week one I think.

If anything he got the same yardage Cartwright does but is more of a threat to take it to the house.
