However, we know Shanahan never even contacted Cutler before drafting him. Given that, thus far our energies have been mostly spent on QBs, I think its possible Shanahan is using misdirection and has no intention of drafting a QB in the first two rounds of the draft. Considering he also has heaped praise on top of several of our linemen, its also likely that he's trying to make other teams think we'll go with a QB with one of our 1st two picks, thereby forcing them to trade up if they want a particular QB.

I have a gut feeling that the interest in mccluster is genuine, though, and we'll be trading down (or up) to get him.

Dexter McCluster could jump into the roster slot vacated in Washington by Antwaan Randle El. The Washington Redskins have invited the versatile athlete for an official visit next week.

I thought we already filled the spot.

With ARE gone we're still desperate for an East-West runner. I don't know if McCluster is up to the task.

Yeah McKnight is one guy I've heard mentioned a lot, but don't know if there are any plans for him to visit.

Karim is an intriguing possibility.

A guy I like a lot is James Starks out of Buffalo, though I'm not sure he fits here

hopefully thats just to keep the other teams off the trail.

If we draft a late round running back, I hope we can grab this guy.
Probable 6-7th round pick. Possibly better than Best and McCluster.
