Re: How DonoShan will take us to the Playoffs this year.
If anything it would be DonoHan. (1st part of one name and second part of the other name) As in 'Brangelina' or Bennifer or Vaughniston...jeez ppl...name combining 101...
Personally I think Shanovan or McNabbahan.

I like Shanovan the best. Catchy. Maybe if we add Adams it can be Flozoshanovan. Heck. Let's keep adding all the old free agents. FlozoshanovanLJarker. Cool? cool.

Re: How DonoShan will take us to the Playoffs this year.
Those are some bold predictions but I'd love to see them come true. I think that Mike and team will be able to utilize whomever we have better than Zorn or Gibbs were able to. Haslett is still a bit of a concern for me but we'll just have to cross that bridge once we get to it. I'll be interested to see the success or lack thereof that a lot of our positional coaches have elsewhere. Unfortunately, for that evaluation, some have retired.

and no offense, but this is a retarded thread when we don't even have a starting left tackle yet. |

They have a great chance to get Okung, or someone in the draft. They can still sign a FA, or make a few trades. My point is, I feel very confident that Shanahan and Allen will get what they need to compete before the season starts. Do you really think they are done making moves to improve the team? I am trying to understand why many people are so negative about the team, and the direction. They are trying to win a championship now! Mike's son is in line to take over the team when he retires. He will build this team up for long term success. |

Your original post could just have easily been: Hi I am a fan, my team made changes, we are going to the playoffs. Yay. (oh yeah we were 4-12, and let 10 players go, and don't have a starting LT on our roster) But we are there Man! Yeah! |

Re: How DonoShan will take us to the Playoffs this year.
Quarterbacks provide a lot of utility to the team. That doesn't mean they can turn water into wine. But laymen love the "he's like Jesus" metaphor, no matter how silly it is.
Super Bowl teams have players who can make enough plays from to win it all. Where it comes from, it depends. There is not enough playmakers to go be so certain of a playoff run this year. A transitioning defense means growing pains as they learn it, which means plays that hurt the team. An unproven O-line coach and unproven O-linemen means that we don't know how much of a foundation McNabb has to stand on. I believe that Shanny+McNabb is going to be an excellent combo, but they aren't going to be miracle workers.

I'm not a fan of the DonoShan.
Someone came up with Shanovan Era. It just sound better. |

Agreed. "Redskins Ride the Shanovan to Super Bowl Title" sounds better

Re: How DonoShan will take us to the Playoffs this year.
A lot of elements have to come together quickly, but I think most will agree it's going to be interesting to see just what all the newness is going to produce.
Despite all the changes there will be many who will be profoundly dissapointed if this team does not make the playoffs. |
