I think they give mccoy one more year. Third year is suppose to be the QB make or break year.

They have two first round picks so they can get him some weapons and/or protection. Plus there defense wasn't that bad last year.

weapons, yeah, protection, no. Their OL is one of the best in the league. If you put a good QB behind it, they'd probably be getting sacked less than 10 times a year.

Most if not all of the teams picking ahead of us are already heavily committed (big bucks) to young QB's. So what is our desperation to give away draft picks when we sit at #6? Look at who is picking ahead of us:

1) Colts - already have Peyton Manning and have a so many needs. They take Luck.
2) Rams - Already have Bradford
3) Vikings - heavily invested in Ponder
4) Browns - already have McCoy
5) Tampa Bay - Already have Josh Freemen
6) Skinnies

I say stay where we are and let see what happens.
No no no no no. They are not set at all on McCoy. They, especially shurmur, love RG3. That's where your wrong.

in a strategy that involves staying put, is there any rule which prevents the skins for trading for RG3, if drafted before the 6th pick?

Well, Eli Manning got traded to the Giants after getting picked by the Chargers, so no, shouldn't be any rule that prevents a trade after the fact.

Freeman is a guy that I can see being moved.

McCoy sucks

Re: how to get a QB if youre pulling the trigger

It's only January. For all we know, the Browns may stick with McCoy for another year. More will come out in the next couple months. The gut though is that they take RG3.

Just asking, any chance that the Colts DONT select a qb at #1 and wait late and pick someone like Foles or Tannehill? Or maybe wait until next year and take Barkley or Jones?

Assuming Peyton is 100%, you dont even see them taking someone late like Tannehill or Foles?

I think there is no way in hell, by fair means or foul, by soft words and hard deeds...
by treachery, by cunning, by malpractice... they do not take multiple plunges unto the QB pool in FA and the draft this year.

You won't know if Peyton is healthy until way after the draft. You can't hope and pray he lasts another 4 years. Them neglecting to draft his heir is what put them drafting at the #1 spot this year.

Only way the Colts don't draft Luck is if somehow their draft phone disconnects when they try to relay their pick to the commissioner.

I still laugh at the pitiful Skins fans still deluding themselves that somehow we draft up and select Luck. Why even set yourself up for disappointment like that?

For the record, I never said I want us to select Luck. Im an RG3 guy. I was just asking hypothetically. You never know what may happen unless you're some kinda psychic, which you're not. We'll just have to wait until April 26.

But I still think Luck will be number 1 though

Re: how to get a QB if youre pulling the trigger

My bet is that RG3 will go to the Browns. I think if Blackmon is still available at 6 then they would probably go for a trade with us. My proposal to them for our 6 is their 22nd pick from Atlanta, their 2nd rounder and Colt McCoy. I like McCoy and think he can still be great in the NFL. I'd love to get RG3 but I just don't see any way to trade up to get him. With the 22nd I want CB Janoris Jenkins. IMO the two greatest needs are CB and QB and this would solve both and get an additional 2nd round pick.

I think this makes sense for both teams. Colt is the last regimes guy and Shurmer and Holmgrem get their guy with their first pick then get the best wr to throw it to. Colt can learn from a veteran QB which he wasn't able to do in Cleveland and the Skins get a young, exciting QB.

So who would you have him learn behind? Grossman?
