The reason for my disdain for Spurrier comes back from my days of being a rabid FSU fan. Then I realized that I had no attachment to FSU at all and kind of stopped liking college football.

I am a UT fan only because I have so much family that works there and friends that go there.

I always loved Spurrier because he regularly stuck it to UT and their fans. Running the Emory and Henry up the field at the end of the game down by more than a FG, going for it on 4th and 1 on his own 29 (on the road) on the opening drive and throwing a touchdown pass, etc. Always made me happy when the camera panned over to the great pumpkin and he would be utterly confused. "Spurrier" or "Gators" were the things that could always be said to shut UT fans up. I'm looking foward to it hopefully being that again, but with "Gamecocks" instead of "Gators".

It was hard to control myself in the midst of a bunch of titans fans when he ran a WR pass for a touchdown when we were already up by more than 10 points.

I was almost as passionate about FSU as I am about the Skins back in the day, now I really don't care about college football. But you can imagine my chagrin to see the Skins hired him when I was in my peak of loving FSU.

I am from Carolina an although i loved the uptown charlotte parties when the Panthers went to the Super Bowl I am Redskins all the way. I would never change my team. Ever!!!!
