Re: John Clayton picks Skins to win the NFC East

I think a big factor so far is that we are the only team to win a division game on the road. Hopefully we can beat the cowboys and giants at home near the end of the year. [Begin winning rant] Shit, I would love the wild-card, but i want to win the division!!! I want it all for our burgundy gold. [End winning rant]

People can say anything. And they do.
Doesn't make a difference come Sunday.
I hope Clayton is right. Let's hope Joey T is right!
But honestly let's take it humbly and 1 game at a time. Predictions are for TV, reality gives great pain and great joy.

Hey, the schedule does look in favor for us. And just keep winning the home games. Visions of '99. WIN this division!

I think Clayton's analysis is very sound. We have a huge advantage going into the stretch - playing 2 of 3 division games at home. If we can preserve our home field advantage at FedEx we ought to - at a minimum - sweep the boys and split the iggles and giants. And this year that might just give us the best record in the division, which I think will count for a lot at the end of the season.

That's all good, but I will be happiest if the Skins follow up a good victory agianst the Buzzards with a thorough thrashing of the Buccaneers.

One game at a time baby. We need to foucs on Tampa and not the rest of the schedule. I could see us losing every one of those games for some reason or another. Not saying we will lose all of our last games but I mean every game is losable. Plain and simple if we stay healthy an continue to play the way we did in the first half we have a reasonable shot at 5-3 or 6-2 in the second half. I think 10-6 probably gets us in so we just need to keep on keeping on.

i agree. either we'll win the division and nyg gets the WC or vice versa. maybe some good will come from nyg smashing us in that we'll really be out to get them when they come to DC. if we can take these next 2 then we are in excellent shape. go skins.

I just enjoy that Dallas has a tough schedule.

Re: John Clayton picks Skins to win the NFC East

The Skins have had a brutal schedule so far, look at the records of the teams they've played:

Bears 5-3
Cowboys 5-3
Seahawks 6-2
Broncos 6-2
Chiefs 5-3
49ers 2-6
Giants 6-2
Eagles 4-4

Only one slouch in the bunch and 4 division leaders!. One thing's for sure, this team will be battle tested by the end of the season. To be 5-3 at this point is an impressive accomplishment in my opinion.

Re: John Clayton picks Skins to win the NFC East

One of my FAVORITE things about our new found competative team is respect from the league. They no longer regard us as a High school team.
Listening to a (very knowledgeable) local sports guy in SW Florida. His PM program yesterday was bombarded with Tampa Bay predictions for this weekend and an ass kickin' for the Skins. Even though he is a huge TB fan, basically he said IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN. He iterated that the skins have played a much tougher schedule and won on the road against all playoff caliber teams, except one-which we slayed! That team in turn beat TB. he also mentioned this would be TB's biggest challenge this season. He detailed many other things such as newbie QB, poor blitz handling by TB. Blitz happy Skins, etc. etc. It was a joyful PM drivetime for me yesterday! It's a great time to be a Skins fan!!!!!!

Hmmm, poor blitz handling. I like the sound of that.
