I think that Bush is more valuable, but they really do not need improvement in that position. I think they OL or Defensive help. Or maybe they should have drafted Bush and then traded. In defense to the Texans, I am sure they tried to trade down, but they did not get what they were looking for, I mean they are not stupid. Williams has been projected to go in the top five other drafts, but this draft pool is especially talented.

yeah, the only reason he's hyped is b/c of his speed... nothing to do with his ability to cut on a dime at full speed, make people miss, change direction at will, or threat to take it to the house whenever he touches the ball. /sarcasm

idk if mario williams was worth the number one pick but he will help their team more than bush...D'brickashaw would have been the best pick for them

and domanick davis is a great running back...his stats arent that great, but he's had a few injuries and he's been running behind the worst o-line in the league
I concur, I think that not drafting Bush is understandable in the Texans case, but maybe they should have picked my main man D-Brick, or found some kind of way to trade down.

haha i agree mel kiper is probley crapping his daggone pants, at first I was a little upset that the texans would do something like that, but after realizing that not one man can make your team no matter how good he is, and that the texans biggest need wasent at rb,and they had a very capable punt returner, i believe it was a wise decision for them. Now with that said, and then there was reggie. I am now wondering if the saint have the cap room for him on there roster with the number 2 pick, maybe? But would constrict them to do much more, draft wise. Some might say the jets have a chance and maybe they do, but I see the packers with farve one last time behind center and the packers way under salary cap, to make an offer to attain the most dynamic player in recent years.

I agree Bush is not particularily overrated, but you have to understand that he did so well in an almost perfect USC team. Their pass was soo effective and they had an amazing OL. That being said, I still think Bush will be good in the NFL. The next Barry Sanders? No.

you do realize that his o-line was incredible and he was playing against college players right?

considering i'm a trojan, i think i do know about our o-line last year. and obviously if you know about reggie more than me, you would have mentioned that many of his highlight reels had nothing to do with his O-line last season- check punt return vs. oregon, check dime-stop down the field against fresno state, etc etc...

why is it that other college players are never held to the same standards of playing against other college players, but the once-in-a-generation ones get the third degree? what has mario williams done that reggie bush hasn't?

Re: Texans Reach Contract Agreement with Williams, will pick him No. 1

We can argue about Bush and his worth, or Williams and his worth all day long, but I think there's one simple answer to this whole debate.

The Houston Texans made this call - clearly it's a bad one. Houston is a losing organization. Mismanged, poorly coached, in disarray. No amount of star players is going to fix that trainwreck of a "football team."

I'd say Reggie Bush ought to count his blessings. Two years from now no one will know or care who went first in the 2006 draft, and $2 million is chump change in this league.

Maybe Bush will have a chance at joining a team with a future, rather than wasting the first 5 years of his career with a team destined for mediocrity.

ok... i don't think there's any more reason to waste time trying to defend bush... it's obvious that nothing's going to change some people's perception that he's not all that, no matter what. and there's probably nothing that's going to change the perception of some of us that he is all that... including not just fans, but texans fans (who are about to jump off bridges now) and about six gms that have made calls to the saints re: trade proposals right now. yeah, the "average fast running back" really garners that type of interest from professional talent evaluators.

Yeah, but Ki-Jana carter didn't have five teams trying to trade away their mothers to get him either...

you would think they would atleast trade down. There is a reason they are the first pick though

The texans suck at life.

Now watch him fall to 14 and the Eagles

but in all seriousness, seems like the Jets could use him. They need a successor to Curtis Martin don't they?

Wow,,what planet have u been living on,,Reggie Bush is Marshall Faulk and Ladanian in one body. No wonder the Texans have the 1st Pick in the draft they suck at drafting just like they suck at playing. Mario Williams in Texas equal another losing season...You gotta score to win
