DUCKETT IS DONE! He didn't do JACK. Ladell carried the load and they rewarded him to a nice 5 year deal, WELL DESERVED! More than I can say for most of the FA that we signed! LB is a real SKIN, and will be with us for many years to come!

i love Vilma. and i think the skins would be fine with Cartwright backing up Portis. but to fall that far in the draft, the jets would have to sweeten the pot. but another guy from the 'U'? definitely

t.j.duckett and our #6 for vilma and thier #25 sounds much better to me.
they would be getting a much better deal if we gave them betts and the #6.

I guess you're assuming we would re-sign TJ before dealing him, because he's currently set to become a FA.

If the trade was to happen before TJ signed with anyone would be ideal. But I would imagine TJ will be signed before that trade would happen. I dont see us signing TJ or him even willing to sign unless the trade was a 100% done deal.

No offense...But if you think any trade involving Betts for Vilma is not good you have to be high on some good stuff!!!!! Are you serious, do you not watch football. Betts is great and all and I love him to death...but cmon, Vilma is a freakin beast. Our defense would be immediately better and we wouldnt have to worry about spending money at LB when CB, DT, and DE are greater needs for us to POSSIBLY address WISELY in free agency or the draft. However, the Jets are on crack if they expect us to swap our 6 for their 25, Betts is a starting quality back and Vilma is a proven starter. After the season Betts had, on paper, he aint no LT or S. Alexander, but he is probably better that your average running back. Vilma for Betts, str8 up deal, no picks is what I would like, but if the Jets would throw in some picks that would be great too. But to get our hands on Vilma would be ridiculous, him and Sean probing the field would be dangerous!!!!!

I agree here. I would make the move straight up. But what do you think of the Jets current rb's? Cause Leon Washington is the real deal. Cedrick Houston is nice too. So I'm not sure what the Jets are thinking if any of this is true. Why bring in Betts when you already have two real good young runners?

I hate the thought of even thinking this. Betts is to good to give up. what happens when and if portis goes down again? Betts is very valuable here and if it was me i wouldn't even think about letting this guy go. you need help!

one of those sign and trade deals.
i don't think this is gonna happen, nor do i think betts will be traded. i just think if having to choose between betts and duckett, then i'd rather the skins keep betts.

Rocks done a heck of a job, but he's not a #2 in the backfield. Can't campare Rock to Ladell. Ladell is a #1 on most teams. I'm quite sure there are many teams that would like to utilize him as there #1 back. We're in GREAT shape if CP is healthy and LB is on the sidelines with fresh legs!

Re: Draft Day Trades: Jets Interested?!(from a primary source)

I don't like the trade as reported. I think that Betts and a 2nd or 3rd in next year's draft would be fair. The Jets need a running back in a bad way, were reportedly interested in him last year, do not have a pick high enough to get a good back, and I don't think there's a feature back on the free agent market. My guess is that if they are serious, they will reduce their asking price.

Moreover, I don't think we need a back of Betts' caliber as a backup. Having two feature backs on a team that has an abundance of holes at starting positions and depth issues doesn't make much sense to me. Don't get me wrong, I like Betts, but I think we have other areas of need that need to be filled. I'd like to have both Betts and extra picks, but we probably can't have both and I'd pick the extra picks or players over an extra feature back.

Regarding this original post, I'm not saying this "deal" is made up, but I will say it's hearsay so I would encourage everyone to not get too worked up. Take it for what it is, a guy who supposedly talked to a guy. Sorry but I've heard these things too many times before.

I feel you guys on hearsay, but I was there. I talked to the man. If u dont believe, then fine. You dont have to. It still happened, and I was working, so I wasnt drunk. We need draft picks bad and he told me that we have someone(Betts) who can help us get depth as a team.

If something happens, dont be surpised.

Since we are on the subject...What are you guys gonna do after the SKins select 6th overall untill our next pick??

I believe you when you say you were there--if for no other reason then the deal seems like a Redskin-esque deal. We give up loads of value, but we fill a need with a guy from the University of Miami.

As for the deal itself, I don't like it as is, but with a little reasonable negotiating, we can make this deal better for us.

I hope you're right b/c I hate the trade. Betts and Portis are major weapons and will both go for 1000 if healthy. Look at Indy's two headed monster approach. Last year Betts balls dropped and he became a passing and running threat to be dealt with, that will motivate CP that much more. Why don't we draft a player at # 6.

Last time we had a pick that low we got Sean Taylor...........
