Re: on the bright side....

the replay showed the ball go right thru Lloyd's hands, and he could'nt hang on..not really blaming him for that. Just saying when called on, he needs to make those plays..That was a TD right there.

On another note...Jason campbell is growing up right before our eyes and i love it!

Re: on the bright side....

yeah, I'm really not all that negative... I thought we were going to win it several times, but we had some costly turnovers.

Our D is playing well without having to disguise much, or use exotic schemes, and I think we found a QB... How exciting is that? His receivers kinda dicked him today, but he was making smart decisions with the football overall...

clinton portis, however is a concern. he's not playing well, and moss is a huge question mark...

on the bright side there was some hustle from lloyd today... I was kinda impressed by his miss.. he layed out for the ball.

Re: on the bright side....

It is time for us to see Brandon Lloyd. I actually believe that he may have the best hands on the team when given opportunities. I would love to see Lloyd, Randel El and Moss on the field together at the same time. Moss is a good received and even a playmaker but I think that Lloyd can catch anything thrown his way. We need to get this guy on the field.

Re: on the bright side....

portis was fine....the fumble hurt, but it wasnt the reason we lost. He had very ineffective blocking...he had to make a man miss within a half a second of receiving the ball every time.....he had the ball properly tucked and it came out somehow. need to run the ball in the rain especially on that big fourth down on their thirty....There is always next week and we are at home!!!!!

Well said with respect to Portis. I think he is a little off due to the injury and probably not 100% himself, but he did pretty well today given the state of the offensive line. The fumble was bad, but frankly by that point we had already tried to give the game away a half dozen times.

Re: on the bright side....

My buddy watched the game with me today- he doesn't follow the skins much, but he totally gave it up to our D.

I think our secondary's play is truly underrated right now- everyone knows the first rounders, but the corners are getting to the ball as soon as it's caught. They're being disciplined, keeping everything in front of them. I'm still kind of scared leaving Rogers out on an island here and there, but overall the corners with our deep safeties have me confident about shutting down high powered attacks.

Re: on the bright side....

The cards got spanked today at home by the panthers with Vinny at QB. Warner looked done, IMO--it will be Rattay against us.

4-2 is crucial, given where our schedule goes after that. Hopefully, we'll get the fire we got after the gints debacle. But this team has to find that fire themselves--it can't be that you only get fired up in "must wins." Good teams are fired up all the time.

4-2 is essential to our post-season chances. With tie breakers, NFC games are that much bigger. Not to mention that you can all but chalk up a loss the following week in NE. I've said it before that the Skins back 7 may match up better against NE's passing attack than anyone, so perhaps we'll be the first team to hold NE under 34 points ;-)

Great points.

I agree, I think this is our first "must win" game.

Re: on the bright side....

I've cooled down a little...I would just like to point out that Campbell has shown that he still has the tools to be successful...nobody could have driven the ball on that last series with that O-line.....on a sad note, I may have to give up skins football for a little while. Its getting really tough to get my school work done and follow games...anyone else in grad school that can sympathize?

Re: on the bright side....

On Lloyd's play, it's not that he couldn't have caught it (it would have been a GREAT catch, if he had)--it's that he was two steps behind the D. That ball should hit him in stride. If it does, he scores standing up. It'll come with JC, but he missed that one.
