Re: Random Thoughts From The Eagles Game

We have won two huge division road games back to back . This without Taylor , Springs and M. Washington vs the iggles . Considering Rocky is probably 90% and C. Rogers although he is playing awesome is not 100% , this looks like a very good defence , maybe great . O-Line , CP and JC ,,,,, big time games the last 4 weeks . HIP - HIP - HOORAY !!!

Another impressive win!!! Also, I think Horton was thinking about the college rules.

Re: Random Thoughts From The Eagles Game

The officiating once again was a joke. There needs to be a league wide audit and suspensions/fines handed out to these guys. If the players can be reprimanded then why not the guys that determine the outcome of a game. That bogus call could have easily cost us the game, another division loss and possibly the season. I wouldn't be so mad, but it's happening across the league and it's costing teams games. These clowns in zebra suits are making calls that never happened, picking up flags, and pointing in the wrong direction. Mike Perriera, Ed Hocculi and their crews need to be held accountable.

Re: Random Thoughts From The Eagles Game

Once again this week the question has to be asked.

Where the F is Sally Jenkins?

I was just about to say something about her! Can you imagine the field day she would have if we blow any of these next 3 games?

Did she write an article after week 1?

EDIT: Yes she did. Here it is.

I just heard on ESPN that Brian Westbrook fractured a couple of ribs in the game yesterday, sorry, no link on this yet. I'm sure it will come up as another excuse as to why the Eagles lost.

You're right Matty, it is a good time to be a Skins fan. Redskin fans in this area have their cars decked out with Redskin flags and such. My girlfriend called me from Virginia Beach today to tell me about this car that had" The cowboys suck and the eagles do too" on the back windshield. It's nice to run into people you don't know with their Skins gear on, and see smiling faces, and have happy conversations about how well this team is doing. I use to take up for the Skins when I only half believed what I was saying. I don't have to do that anymore. This feels so good. The Washington Redskins are a good team. People KNOW it, instead of HOPE it. It is a good time to be a Skins fan.

Re: Random Thoughts From The Eagles Game

skins had a real coach last year, winning 3 sbs is tough.i think coach zorn just sees and feels the nfl of the modern era a lot better than coach gibbs did.like i stated before,i don't think gibbs could have taken this year's team on the road and play like the skins have the last 2 weeks.

Gibbs built this team. He made the Skins a family again and gave us our heart back. Zorn is just making it beat...

That's got to say something about our draft the last few years. A few FA's sat yesterday...Springs, Washington, Taylor, Daniels..........
You forgot about DE Carter. It think he was drafted by the 49ers.

A couple of my observations:
1) DT Griffen of course is our rock, but Golsten, Montgomery and Alexander are quietly doing a very good job stuffing the run. Since the Giants game debacle the DL has stopped the run.

2) Teams are staying away from LeRon Landry. You never hear his name called for anything bad. He is also quietly doing a great job.

3) Our small little smurf receivers are playing good enough to win. Who said we NEEDED tall Wr's? It is not a necessary thing. I think our passing game in past years suffered from poor QB play and very conservative play calling. Not our WR play. I think our little Wr's are good.

4) Cooley made some really great blocks yesterday. I have been a critic of his blocking skills, right fully so, he has not always been very good. But he made some great blocks yesterday.

5) OL is far exceeding my expectations. Especially in run blocking. Wow!

6) Save the big one for last: MLB Fletcher is amazing. That open field tackle of RB Westbrook was the highlight of the game for me. Defense Wins Championships and ours is getting strong.
