Powell seems to be pretty clear on this, not much to say positive for McCain and not a single negative to say about Obama. I'm surprised it took him so long to announce this decision, since I'd wager he's been 98% sure for some time.

While I don't agree with Barack Obama philisophically on most issues, the one area where I favor him over McCain is temperament.
Obama strikes me as someone who is more thoughtful, more introspective and level-headed. McCain appears as more impulsive, acting from the gut. And his first instinct appears to be violence. Now, that may be a product of his military background. But we've had eight years of a president and an administration who obviously acts without thinking things through. It's time for a departure from that. |
