Holt and Bruces best numbers came with Warner throwing to them. It will be interesting to see what the Cardinals offense evolves into. |

Re: Kurt Warner announces retirement after 12 seasons
I was surprised he retired but I don't blame him. He had a great career and has some gas left in the tank. Great QB, class human being. Enjoy life as always Kurt. Thanks for some awesome memories. :thumb:

Brady is a special case also, they didn't decide to buy him some weapons (Moss and Welker) until he developed a few on his own. Patten, Branch, Brown and others. Then again where would Welker and Moss be right now without Brady? |

Re: Kurt Warner announces retirement after 12 seasons
Congrats to a great player & person! I really am surprised & thought he could give it one more shot w/the cards. Maybe he'll announce that he's coming back just as Farve announces he'll retire again?!
Schefter threw out the idea of the Cards trying to nab McNabb in a deal since he has a home in ARizona. |

Re: Kurt Warner announces retirement after 12 seasons
I was wrong earlier, it was one year with Giants. Was injured most of time and was still 5-4 when they decided to go with Eli. The reason i said circular logic because you also say later how some recievers were only good when they got certain Qbs. So qbs are only good because wrs, then wrs only good because of qbs.
He basically resurrected(no pun intended) two franchises and took both to Super Bowls. Not to mention he has passing records and a long career. Great winning percentage. Does he need to go to the Lions and win a superbowl to impress you? Nevermind they have good receivers that wouldn't count. |

Re: Kurt Warner announces retirement after 12 seasons
Just reread what i wrote, and its not really what i was trying to say. I just dont like the people that like him because he happens to be a football player that's Christian. Just like i dont like the people that like Pacman Jones because he happens to be a football player thats a thug.

Re: Kurt Warner announces retirement after 12 seasons
He would go out a top five quarterback.
I think Warner will get his hall of fame due when he comes eligible, but I don't think people realize just how good this guy was. I don't think there have been ten better quarterbacks to ever play the game of football. Certainly not since the merger.

I was never sold on Palmer when he was everyone's 3rd best QB. I did once think Bulger was going to be really good though. But Manning could be considered in the same camp you put Warner in. He has only played with a strong supporting cast. James, Harrison, Wayne and Clark. There are 2 HOers there. I do admit that Manning is one of the best QB's of all time but he's had a ridiculous supporting cast, better then what most QB’s have worked with.

Re: Kurt Warner announces retirement after 12 seasons
I took full offense from your post about Christians....but honestly, in the NFL as far as starters go, who else sets an example like him? A good guy who isnt an extremist...im just saying those kind of guys are hard to come by.....

Have to agree with Matty's rebuttal of this quote. Could Manning be any good without Harrison, Wayne, Clark, and Gonzalez til he got hurt? Marshall Faulk, Edgerrin James, and Joe Addai, aren't bums either. Every great QB in the NFL or college had a solid supporting cast. THat is why I am not going "gaga" over the Big 4 QB prospects in this draft. They rocked when their team had a distinct talent advantage over most of their opponents, but got roughed up when the odds were even. |
